McCain picks Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as VP

I love it! I was worried about McCain and I didn't know if he could be trusted on the moral issues. I like this woman because of her no nonsense approach to her job. She believes in teaching creation in public schools and keeps it real with the people. She's just a genuine woman that most men would love to have as a better half. This woman had a choice to abort her baby because of an illness to the baby, however she chose to accept the soul God has given her by giving birth to the lad. In addition I like the fact that she's a common woman, and its a blessing to have such a woman chosen to help lead the party of Lincoln. Did I mention she's attractive for a 44 year old mom with 5 kids?

This is truly a Hail Mary pass by McCain and sadly, it just might work... God help us and a long life to McCain if it does. :smh:

This is definitely a calculated move by the Republicans. This wasn't done without a lot of thought and consideration as they watch the DNC. I believe they are definitely going after the female vote (i.e., Hillary supporters), and will try to get the sympathy vote if Biden attacks. It will be interesting.

RB: this woman is under investagation within her own state.. I believe issue involving her and her husband demanding public safety commissioner to fired her former brother-in-law...

BlackCaesar2k5, Cythina McKinney father and my pops go way back from there days of hanging on the corner of Simpson Rd and Westlake rd. Been knowing her basically all my life, but I still can't waste my vote on her. The sad part about this is that I benefit more financially probably more than 90% of all the folks on this board from having Bush/Mccain as president, but I have enough sense to realize that most of my family and friends will never reap the benefits of this party. That's why I can't support them. Sometimes it's about the bigger picture than me being selfish thinking only of myself. War is good for my pockets and helps me make great money, but my over all kinfolks and friends suffer because of it.

You know, I work for the IRS and I know for a fact that we rip off the American more than anyone on earth. I've personally seen what the Democrats have done to the American people compared to the Republicans. Everyday I have to deal with hard working Americans getting robbed by bills in which congress has passed to rob the people. I have to deal with people wanting to commit suicide because of their situation. Economics is so simple but yet so many don't understand it. Those who have owned a small business know exactly what I'm talking about in ref to taxes and the growth of your business. Its almost impossible to grow your business due to heavy taxes and slow business combined. You also know the "IRS" will still penalize you for not making your ES payments or FTD's on time.......regardless of loss. If you know that then think about the corporations and what they go through. Democrats want to bend them over with no lube or protection. This is called communism at its best. They believe in taking from those who work and giving it to those who don't work. Whenever I hear my clients talking about what Bush has done with the taxes I'm quick to correct and educate them by informing them that congress sets the policy for the IRS.......not the president. The president can influence congress but the ultimate decision is up to congress. I inform them that our policy changes everyday at the service and that's no lie. If you want to make a difference in your taxes then do your homework and go with the guy who's voted against raising taxes and you'll see an instant change in your taxes......I did. I make it clear to them that they must research the history of a politician on paper, regardless of what they say.

Brother, I pray everyday that God gives me the knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to do my job "BEFORE" I start my day. By doing this I feel that God places me in a position to help honest Christians. I can't tell you how many "God bless You's" I receive from clients after working with them. They "ALWAYS" tell me that I'm not the typical IRS guy but I always tell them that I'm not of the world....but a Christian. I take my Christianity wherever I go and it works out for the best. Yea, and sometimes I do the Christian thing by giving the client some breathing room, if you know what I mean. Attorneys and women just absolutely love my work because I listen and treat people with respect. I've gotten more people to full pay their tax liability by just listening and not demanding. People fear the IRS but they shouldn't because we are there to help them. All they have to do is seek our help "BEFORE" they make a financial decision.

Doesn't the "Hatch Act" apply to IRS employees? Partisanship is a no no for federal employees on the job. Be careful my brother. If what you say is true in your above post you could be jeopardizing your job.

The issue with most of the comments on this thread is many of you think that "Hillary votes" want a women so bad that they will go against the very fiber of their believes just to vote for a women. And that is not the case. If anything McCain's choice of VP will push them closer to Obama because Palin's beliefs are completely against everything they stand for.

In addition you will also see Hillary take a larger role in this election because Biden won't be able to attack Palin the way he could a male VP choice. But Hillary can call her to task and keep it moving. Who was saying they didn't want Hillary with-in 50 feet of this campaign?:lmao:

Sidenote: I have a feeling that Palin won't last past the end of September and will be replaces by Romney.

I didn't know a VP can be replaced in the middle of an election. Is this wise and have this ever happen before?

Yes it can happen and is has happen before. In 1972 McGovern picked Eagleton who had in the past had mental problems which the media pounced on so Eagleton was replaced with Shriver and they got destroyed by Nixon.

I remember Nixon's Vice President Spiro Agnew resigning due to unreported taxes, which everybody said was done to divert attention from Nixon's troubles.
