First of all let me thank all the teams that made it possible for AAMU to represent the Eastern Division in the SCG. Without your help it would be impossible for us to be playing in the SCG. By no means do we want you to be slighted in your supreme efforts to assist us but we recognize your accomplishments over this season. A special shout out to Southern University for having the courage to schedule AAMU as homecoming bait. Again, AAMU proved to be too much for Southern after AAMU losing its own homecoming to winless Texas Southern University. I cannot say enough about JSU finding enough fund to bring their band to Normal to celebrate the firing of their coach. I still think the coach should have finished the season. The only thing Rambling did is that they made us a better football team. Yes, we beat a good Tenn St. team the week prior to the Ramblilng Game, but we were really upset about not being on TV and lost our focus of beating Rambling instead of showcasing our entire program.

Little is being said about AAMU playing in the SCG, because the Dawgpound will remind you of your previous comments at the beginning of the season. Can't you see these hardbrothers Mike, Strawdog, AAMU Alum and others just waiting for TP and Get Ready and members of the Jag Nation to start something.

We did what we had to do, but don't forget the role that your team played in our making it to the SCG.

JROCK, at the New Orleans TSPN Reunion, Lewis, BgJag and I had an indepth discussion about BCF and the most dominating programs in BCF. We recognized the fact that make no mistake about it that when it came to BCF, only a few teams were a part of this elite group. Therefore, beating them were a major task on a Saturday afternoon. We also recognized that some administrators did not recognize the value of these programs to their schools and did not provide the funds to keep their team at a high level of competativeness, therefore, allowing the competition to catch up with what they have accomplished over the years. If you are not aware these new administrators cut funds There is no down year in the SWAC, it is a known fact that all SWAC teams have improved in the last five years. In the past the elite teams didn't have to do an indepth game preparation for those teams that they could beat by just showing up. Now that we have smarter coaches and players that edge that the elite teams once enjoyed is not the standard, but every game is important and if you are not prepared you will get beat. You can attest to the fact that may of you said that SU does not lose homecoming, but you did therefore in your own ranks you are looking for answers.

Don't waste all your good sense and logic on JROCk. He ain't got the sense God gave a chicken. All of your statements are flying waaaaaaaay over his head! And to prove it, watch him come back with some stupid reply, and then laugh at himself.

Maybe if you say it is a down year for Sucks again, I can come up with another story, but it is for the readers of the MW Papers to understand what is going on and go check on it. We offer our readers enough to put their thinking caps on and ask Pete if this is true or their coach. Didn't we learn that JSU was not providing a full allotment of scholarships to Hughes? Didn't we see PVAM start offering scholarships and they are beginning to pay off?

Don't you know that when a coach comes to AAMU and see 7 practice fields with two being side by side with lights, they want to know why can't I have that. :)

One problem that we have in the SWAC is blind loyalty to coaches that ain't getting the job done. We tend to hold on to our coaches too long when it's obvious that they are no longer effective. The days of the 20 year tenure is over in collegiate coaching. The best bet nowadays is to have turnover within a ten year (15 at most) period.

Coaches nowadays get complacent and rest on their past successes. They start acting as if the job is an entitlement and not something they have to earn. Some folk might not agree with me, but in hindsight it was about time for Doug Williams to move on. He did a great job at restoring Grambling. However due to his past as our most famous athlete and success as a coach, the temptation to coast would have set in. They get so caught up on the perks that they tend to ease up in the work and preparation required to maintain the program's success. That's not a knock on Doug, but my opinion of how things seem to be happening now in collegiate sports...even our HBCU's.

Some of the jags will refute this, but that's some of the problem with Pete. He works hard in a lot of ways, but he has also gotten complacent in some areas. He's resting on his past laurels and knows that if he beats Grambling and at least makes it to the SCG, he can get a $200k salary. He let his recruiting slip and over the years never replaced folk that left with folk as good or better. Why? He didn't feel he had too because he had won in the past and now it was all about getting his financial package...dayum the assistants.

This is what managment is about, and it is the backbone of all situation that need to be evaluated. You don't evaluate to fire individual, but to improve the program. Good points. When evey element is taken into account and you assign responsiblity to those who are responsible you can make improvements.

Fool is such harsh comments. Refute my comments. Beat Gram and prove them wrong. Losers are what you guys have done each time you've made it to the SCG.

Ive yet to say its a down year in football. I will say any team can be beaten. Look your homecoming for instance. Who woulda thunkit, Wilson only win as a swac hc would be agnst the east champs. The only team standing strong is....well......you know who.

So, congrats on continually progressing in almost e'ry sport your school has!!! B-Ball champs. V-Ball. FB. Softball. Just don't take the 'Bills' stigma from Jackson, even though youre headed that way.

If you were any kind of authority, and your opinion was worth a plug nickel, your li'l lamentation above might concern me. But since you aren't........oh well.....you get the point.
