Elmore Gym work delayed

Alabama A&M basketball fans, who entered the new year hoping to sit in new chair-back seats at Saturday's Southwestern Athletic Conference home opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff inside Elmore Gym, will be disappointed.

According to athletic director Betty Austin, A&M "dropped the ball" in hopes of getting permanent seating in the lower level of the facility. A&M officials had hoped to get the new seats installed last month. Unfortunately, Operation Elmore, a campaign that was launched last summer to help raise $300,000 to renovate the facility, was unable to be completed even though the money was made available through men's and women's game guarantees as a result of playing major non-conference opponents.

This is so, so sad. Operation Elmore was a bust? How can you drop the ball when the money was supposedly there. Not!! Operation Elmore should've been named "operation sell-more" tickets.

This has not been a good year for AAMU sports. First, you lose the SWAC title to JSU, now this??!! Po Betty.:smh::smh:
 



Now I know that J-State has personally himself gave to this fund. MD, you better get this thing rolling or you are going to have to give refunds back.

I know that there was a reason that I havent seen Aluminum, MisInformed Mikey, Trudrawzsittingoncouches, Scrawdog (who doesnt know JSU from TSU), and the others. MD, you better make sure that you receive money orders from these guys. Dont take any checks.
 
Also they have a football coach coaching baseball.

Watch some one come in and say baseball don't count or black kids don't play baseball in Huntsville

How in the heck can STATE WORKER's in charge of STATE MONEY not know all building contract's have to be BIDDED OUT.

Old fangled boiler's not fired up in the past to heat the gym.

Is OTIS tha janitor still working the gym.
maybe he can SPIT-POLISH those old seat's and make them look new.

To add excitement and padded chair comfort to the game, just throw a blanket on every 2nd chair and bill it as "SNUGGLE AT ELMORE COUPLE'S NIGHT". :lol:

Those blanket's can be purchased on the low low at any of the 1000 Walmart's you guy's are alway's bragging about for $9.99 each.

I haven't seen that kind of setup since taking a trip to the old Canton High School gym. I felt really sorry for them Canton folks, once I finished laughing.

We have an auditorium for plays.... It's not Madison Central's though. It belongs to the tax payers of Madison County. I don't know why they claim it.
