LSU to Play In-State FCS Programs?

Could it be? Could LSU really be interested in playing FCS programs that are from in-state instead of playing the Appalachian States and Western Carolinas of the world?

What do the Grambling and Southern folks think about this? I guess economics factor in after awhile, especially since it is cheaper to have an instate team than pay probably $150-200k more for out of state.

It will be interesting to see what McNeese and / or NSU get for playing them. What will be the payout? It looks like the wont get the Tulane payout for sure.

Right now GSU or SU are not mentioned.

Why would it be the Tulane payout? Tulane is FBS. McNeese and NWST are FCS. You guys wouldn't get the same payout at Alabama that a Troy would. It's the politics.

With them being instate, it said the pay would be $350,000 to $400,000. That sounds about right. Trying to remember what the most an FBS has paid to an instate FCS. It may be $400k. I know a few schools that got $600-700k, but you pay more for flying a team in. The extra money covers charter flights, etc.
 
We will find out if they play them. Its hard to say.

"LSU will pay Tulane $850,000 for the Green Wave's game in Tiger Stadium on Oct. 31."

Kinda figured NSU would try to get in. I think NSU's coach came from Les Miles staff.
 
The talks begin this week with McNeese and NSU. LSU new scheduling policy in light of the economic status of our state is to play 1BCS team and 1 in state school not Southern, well not as long as Pete is the coach and 1 mid major like Troy or UAB if possible. LSU has had problems with OOC schools selling out their 7000 tickets given to them. App State only sold 500 last year so they feel McNeese,Northwestern etc would be able to sell those tickets and also peek interest among tiger fans along with keeping the money in state.

McNeese won't have any problem selling 7000 tickets against LSU. They'll probably outdraw Tulane at the Superdome next year. :lol:
 
Good for them, but SU doesnt need to play them. It would be World War Baton Rouge. Its fine for SU to play them in the other sports, but football is a different animal.

SU outdrawed Tulane both times, and it wasnt close at all. SU vs Tulane had 47,000 the first game. The cowpokes wont come close to that number.

I forgot about that, but it's just amazes me how people at SU continues to think azz backwards and stay in the dark ages, than when things come up short some blame on Dwightman.

Think about it, if they decide to play one in state school on a rotating basis and we're the only one in the entire state not to participate.

Now I ask you, who's the one that's really going to look like a backward jackass? Some may even accuse us of being racist and have a legitimate point.

I tell you 450,000 shole looks good right about now, but then again something just wouldn't be right that night we as SU fans would have to swallow alot pride because it would get ugly quick but as someone said Les would call the dogs off after halftime.

450K does not pay for the humiliation, player injuries, and the bruises to the Southern brand.................Y'all are out of your minds. :lol: :emlaugh: LSU plays real Louisiana Football. :lol: :emlaugh: ( I don't know what that shat is Southern has been playing at the very least the last 4 years)

Actually I think its a bad idea also hell ULL going hang at least 40 on us at the Red Bone Classic this year.

I don't count the one he won in fall of 99 without Casem since the big man retired 2 months prior to football season. And that 1 championship (2003) was without Dumb Orlando calling plays.......... :lol: :emlaugh:
