I got this in an email:

As many of you may know, Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA has lost their accreditation, but has filed an appeal to the decision. The results of the appeal are slated for March 1.

The loss of accreditation for any institution of higher learning is the death blow. Without accreditation, Colleges can't receive any federal funds (i.e. financial aid), and would ultimately wind up closing its doors.

Although many of us did not attend Morris Brown, it is still one of our own institutions, and we need to do what we can to help save this sister institution.

Students at Howard University have begun a letter writing campaign, and need your assistance. They are attempting to bombard the Accrediting Association (SACS) with enough letters of support to give Morris Brown an extension. Please assist in this effort by going to: www.howard.edu/savemorrisbrown, and downloading the letter, filling in the blanks and sending it to the address. The more letters they receive, the more they will understand that you can't shut down a HBCU because nobody cares.

SHOW YOU CARE. Today Morris Brown, tomorrow your alma mater. Please and Blessings! To much is given, more is required!
