Deeeeep In The Delta.....
This question has seemed to sparked a lot of convo thanks to Mark Jackson proclaiming him the best small forward of all time.

I'm sorry, but I would take Scottie Pippen over Bird. I'm just saying........
LeBron is second all-time in Player Efficiency Rating. Jordan is No. 1 by the way. But Bird's and LeBron's numbers in terms of production and overall value to their teams compared to their peers are pretty similar.
I'd take LeBron because there hasn't been anyone at that height and size in the history of the sport who can do so many things on the floor like he does.
I love Pippen but he was no Bird. He was a better defender by far but Bird was an overall better player in my opinion.
Pippen is consider one of the best, if not the best all around players to ever play. Bird had a better shot, but that's it. Pippen could play four positions, including point guard. He is consider the first point-forward since he was relied upon to handle the ball so much. Bird couldn't play point or shooting guard if his life was depending on it. He was too slow.

I like Pippen as well but a heavy flaw was the televised game where he was to go in and take that final shot and he told Toni K. (can't spell his name) to go in for him and Toni missed the shot and the Bulls lost. That takes him out of the conversation.

Toni Kukoc made the game winning shot.

Actually Phil Jackson called the play for Kukoc. Pip got upset and didn't go into the game.
And Bill Cartwright chewed his ass out.
Can't really compare the two. The League was different when Bird played vs LBJ.
