Lakers trade Lamar Odom to the Mavericks

MACKG

a.k.a. NASTYNUPE
The Lakers made a trade Saturday, but it wasn't for Chris Paul or Dwight Howard.

Two days after getting rebuffed by the NBA in an apparent deal for Paul, the Lakers sent forward Lamar Odom to Dallas for the Mavericks' first-round pick in the 2012 amateur draft.

She's the manly-looking one.

She knows there's not a whole lot of dudes standing in line to be with her.

Of course, she would go with him.

Well he will be getting a divorce from the Kardashian clan....:emlaugh:

NO she will stay with him. Besides business wise-Dallas is one of the top markets to test products and a lot of companies do their commercials here. She could have a field day testing new products here and she could make a killing doing personal appearances at some of these malls. Especially NorthPark Mall.

The Mavericks' stock just got better. To tell you the truth Odom to me is a solid player which makes me wonder what was that all about, the trade that is, UNLESS they are looking for more shooting power from the ARCH!

I don't know, I think they should have tried harder to keep Tyson Chandler. Is Lamar Odom really gonna bang in the middle? The only banging he does is Khloe

Actually Dallas lost Chandler and now Baraah about to bounch to the T wolves.. Those to guys were keys. One clogged up the middle and the other killed opposing PG with his speed and quickness.

(NewsCore) - Khloe Kardashian assured fans Friday that she will follow her NBA player husband Lamar Odom wherever he may be traded.

Kardashian, 27, took to Twitter after news broke that Odom, a forward with the Los Angeles Lakers, could be traded to the New Orleans Hornets.

HELL NAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Youy put Lamar Odem in that position on a night to night basis, you won't here from that mofo all year. If he not running and gunning with minimum contact, he ain't shat. Odem is worse than ole school Sam Perkins at taking contact and banging under the boards. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

You better hope that this happens because if the Lakers end up with this current roster there will be a good chance that Bynum will go down and that will leave them with only Gasol as a legit big man

They are taking a step back, but they were also right to let them go for the money they got/will get. Dallas is positioning itself for next summer's free agent pool.

If that dictator dumbazz STERN didn't show his bias this weekend, Gasol would have already been in HOUSTON, CP3 would have been in LA, ODEM would have been in Dallas, Bynum would be getting ready to be traded, and today, the LAKERS would have had jets en-route to Orlando to chat with Howard.

I hate Stern.

The Lakers weren't getting Howard for Bynum and spare parts. They were going to need Odom or Gasol in that trade. There was never a realistic chance that LA was getting both CP3 and Howard.

Bynum would have been traded to free up cap room. That was already discussed. Luke Walton was going with him and probably Derrick Fisher. Since CP3 is not comming, that move have to be re-thought because we can't trade Fisher without a point guard comming in. CP3 would have made that trade a no brainer.

A Bynum/Walton/Fish package would've gotten laughed at. Hell, it makes me chuckle a little. Even trading Bynum elsewhere doesn't give them enough cap space to sign Howard outright, and even then, you're risking him being traded elsewhere and signing an extension. LA wasn't topping the Nets' offer without putting in both Bynum and Gasol.

GASOL was already HOUSTON bound if that CP3 Trade went through. They just decided to go ahead and trade ODEM to Dallas anyway in a one on one deal.

Unless HOWARD lose his mind and say he not leaving Orlando UNRESTRICTED next year, Orlando can't laugh at shat. Get what you can and a shat load of draft picks for the next 2 years.

It was not being laughed at this weekend before STERN interveined. Heck, it was basically a done deal as soon as CP3 landed in LA. In fact, that byotch owner from Cleveland was so convinced Orlando was about to lose Howard to the Lakers, he e-mailed STERN a 4 page whinning tantrum basically beggin him to nix the CP3 deal. Saying "You promised that small market teams like New Orleans and Orlando" would be protected from the large market teams when it came to star player movement.

Cleveland Owner Byotching and Whinning again.........This time to STERN .
However, the Yahoo! Sports Staff obtained an email sent from Gilbert to Stern in which he explicitly urged the Commissioner stop the trade. Initially it was believed that Gilbert's lobbying against the trade may have factored into Stern's decision, however, Wojnarowski, later tweeted that a timestamp on the email indicated it was sent after 10 p.m. when the trade had already been vetoed.

"It would be a travesty to allow the Lakers to acquire Chris Paul in the apparent trade being discussed," Gilbert wrote in the email obtained by Yahoo!. "This trade should go to a vote of the 29 owners of the Hornets."

In the email, Gilbert seemed particularly bothered by the fact that the proposed swap would allow the Lakers to save $40 million while also getting the best player in the trade. Even worse, Gilbert feared that the Lakers would still be able to acquire all-star center Dwight Howard later on from the Orlando Magic. Expressing a sentiment likely to be felt in the sparsely-filled arenas of the many also-ran teams, Gilbert asked Stern "When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?"

The Lakers will not trade Fisher. First of all no one would take him, 2nd of all he'd retire if he got sent to another team outside of L.A.

If CP3 had landed in LA, Fisher would be a gone azz already.

Why do you think the LAKERS was trying to get a point guard the caliber of CP3? Fisher is done in LA unless he takes less money and come off the bench.

Fisher would have come off the bench in L.A. That was a given. L.A. would keep Fish as their backup PG even if he never gets off the pine. Dude is a Laker until he retires.

Frat, Kobe aint going to allow his boy DFish to be cut or traded. He is the glue in that locker room. Fish probably understands he can't start with a CP3 caliber PG on the team. I always thought he would be more valuable coming off the bench because he would be fresh enough to flop err draw fouls and hit 3s. Fish problem is he is too old to start against these younger and faster PGs. He would be great off the bench and since he loves being in with the Lakers, he would take a backup role I believe. Not to mention he will be invaluable for Mike Brown when he and Kobe don't see eye to eye. Because you already know its coming. I was already lol @ Brown passing out bubble gum or candy and cheesing to the reporters when camp opened up. I was like WTF? You know the Zen Master wouldn't have done that. That locker room gone be real interesting with Brown in it. Fisher may need to join the staff if he decides to retire.

Yep. Fish aint going no where and the Lakers shouldn't part with him. Dude has earned his keep and is good for their morale. Off the bench he would provide a spark. He still can give some good minutes to the Lakers.

I agree with you that DFish is good for 10mins off the bench per game.
