They hated BET and wanted their ESPN.
Now we got neither because unless you on Thursday Night, every game ESPN show of us is tape delayed at 9pm central or later. Our games are just time filler. ESPN don't GAS about showing our games or HBCU/FCS in general.
I have to agree with you on that one.
HBCU and FCS football isn't a lucrative enough operation for the networks consider it valuable. That's why games are on ESPNU or ESPN Classic. You really think that the SEC, Big Ten or some other BCS conference would allow ESPN to televise a big-time conference game on ESPNU like Jackson State-Texas Southern game was?
I mean, Texas Southern is the defending conference champion playing against a historically heritage school featuring an athlete the network has done multiple feature stories on. Yet, that came is on ESPN the Ocho while Pittsburgh and South Florida are on the main channel.

I told someone last wek that ESPN is using HBCUs to promote BCS games. All of the shorts and commercial breaks and even halftime are dedicated to pubbing BCS match ups.
