Labor Day Classic at Reliant Stadium Cancelled?

I received a call from a reliable source who stated the LDC is being cancelled at Reliant Stadium. Anyone know anything about this?????????????????
 



Man I HATE rumors, and people that DON'T LISTEN completely. According to what I just heard, the game has NOT at this time been cancelled. I'm 90% sure that people heard that the Astrodome was turning people away and using Reliant CENTER, people heard Relaint, and assumed the STADIUM. Reliant Center and Reliant Stadium are 2 different things.

The problem possibly stems from CNN's error in reporting. They reported Reliant CENTER as the place where the Texans play. It confused me also at first. I'm sure many people probably ran with that.

Either we will find out this evening on the news or be surprised at the Reliant Stadium gate tommorrow :uhoh:
 
just watch the news..................if you move it you got to have a solid back-up plan and that takes time to develop so the people who get paid to answer questions will have more answers than questions.....we'll see

They are developing that back up plan right now. More details coming soon.
 



It's a shame Reliant Park officials could not get this info. out to us sooner! :smh: My reliable source said the announcement was made earlier this afternoon by City Mayor.
 
this is some bull....

I'm really pissed off. Imagine all the people that wasted money coming from out of town. :shame:

At least they had money to waste.

Imagine the 21 people that got car jacked at last nights UH vs Oregon State game. There is too much of a safety issue.

Tell me bout it my bother! My concern all week! Plus yesterdays looting of Ross Department Store and Fiesta Supermarket just across the street from Reliant Stadium! :shame: :shame: :shame:

whoa...didnt know it went down like that out there. Its sad people are acting like animals. Is there any chance the game will be made up later in the season?
 
Labor Day Classic Postponed



Houston, Texas- Texas Southern University and Prairie View A&M University announced that the Labor Day Classic football game scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 3 at Reliant Stadium has been postponed. The game was postponed in respect for the displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina.



FEMA is using Reliant Park as a shelter for the victims left homeless from the storm, and all of Reliant?s resources are being used to help the people in need.



?We understand and sympathize with the victims of Hurricane Katrina,? said Alois Blackwell, TSU Athletic Director. ?We believe that it is only right that we postpone the game.?



?Our prayers go out to each and every family involved. We have student-athletes who were affected by the Hurricane, so we definitely have a personal connection to this tragedy, said Charles McClelland, PVAMU Athletic Director. ?We feel that rescheduling the game was the right thing to do.?



Both universities are now working out the details of finding a new location and date for the game.



Tickets purchased for this weekend?s classic will be honored on the rescheduled date.
