Kobe Bryant met with Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss in Barcelona, Spain and reiterated his demand to be traded, according to Los Angeles-area media reports citing unnamed sources.

The Press-Enterprise of Riverside, Calif. cited two unnamed league sources, who said Buss was shocked by Bryant's continued demand for a trade, and left the meeting uncertain if he would comply with the disgruntled All-Star's wishes.

A source told the Los Angeles Times that Buss wanted to appeal to Bryant, reassuring him that winning remains the team's focus and that trades take time to engineer, but that Bryant remained concerned about the team's direction and did not budge from his demand.

Team sources told the Times the Lakers still have no plans to trade Bryant and remain hopeful that the situation can be resolved.

The Lakers confirmed the meeting took place but would not go into details. Bryant had been vacationing in Spain, while Buss has been in China for the past two weeks.

"Our position is that it's a private meeting between the two of them and it shall remain private between the two of them," Lakers public relations director John Black said.

Bryant's agent, Rob Pelinka, didn't return messages seeking comment, both newspapers reported. But on Friday, he told ESPN.com''s Chad Ford, "Kobe's position remains unchanged ... Kobe would like to be moved."

You mean to tell me a thread with the words "Kobe" "Bryant" was created here like six hours ago and you-know-who ain't responded yet????

Something's amiss.

*don't let u know who see this............*

Kobe's just using the power he has to get what needs to be done, done.
This is good business. If you want something done, you don't let up until it's done.
This is Business 101.

On the other hand, if the Lakers are NOT interested in winning, why not trade him to a team where the front office is interested in winning and winning NOW!

And how in the hell could he have F--up a team when it was already F-up to begin with by an incompetent front office?

Boozer, Kidd, Caron Butler, Baron Davis, J. Oneal ALL wanted to remain or become a Laker, yet some of you have the gall to blame Kobe for this NOT happening?!!
Mr. Clueless, please send help.

I agree but I think Dallas would be an excellent fit.

I should've expected a stupid article like this from topdog for the following reasons:
1) Two un-named league sources??!!

2) "]"Kobe's position remains unchanged ..... Kobe would like to be moved."

What are the .... for? Why didn't they print the ENTIRE response from Kobe's agent? That comment probably went something like this, "If nothing changes, I want to be traded."
If that's the case, that would be NOTHING new at all!

This topdog person claims not to like Kobe and all the Kobe talk, but STILL finds time out of his "busy" schedule to post articles about the great one for cryin out loud. Make up your mind.

Funny that you didn't mention the fact that Jimmy Buss has been reassigned in the Lakers front office. Now THAT'S something new.

Dude, all I did was post an article word for word from a link on the front page of ESPN.com. Click on the link at the bottom of my opening post to this thread to confirm. I didn't write the damn article or anything, nor did I post my opinion of it. This article way more relevant than the one you posted recently about some damn jersey sales. You seem to get pretty defensive where Kobe is concerned. Whether or not I like Kobe is irrelevant. This article was on the front page of the website of the #1 sports news network in American, therefore it's newsworthy and relevant. You seem to take it personally whenever anyone has anything negative to say about Kobe. Why is that? If you have such a problem with the article, why don't u email the person that wrote it? You need to chill out dude.

I think that the only team in the league that he couldn't ruin would be the Hawks. They desperately need some help. If he comes to Atlanta, season tickets will sell out in minutes.
Let's see JayRob start wearing the Hawks jersey if he does get traded to Atlanta.

Oh great.:retard:
Now he want's to go.:shame:

This nutt case just F-ED my team up for years to come. :(

I know man. He wanted this ish and now he wants to run like a biatch ..... I hope Buss tells him go sit yo arse on that bench for the next two years and shut the hell up.

Jordan seems to understand where Kobe's comin from:

MJ On Kobe Bryant and his frustration:
Frustration is a part of the game, especially with a competitor. You want to win so bad, and you've been there, and you want to get back there?and you feel it hasn't really happened that way, and you look for reasons why. I think the unfortunate thing is, we judge him in a very emotional state. He's watching these young kids continue to play, and he's not. It gets at him. And he starts looking for reasons.

That's understandable, but I think he's got a good scenario over there, a good GM, a good coach. I understand the frustration. I never got to that point, but I can't say that I can't identify with it. The worst time for that to happen is now. You want to play. Who wants to be home watching basketball? You want to be out there at the most important time of the season. Then you sit down and you get frustrated and you start pointing fingers or looking for reasons why. He'll get out of that, as basketball gets away, and summer comes. I think he'll mellow back and understand the organization is still trying to make the right moves.

The part about a good gm is a bunch of crap though, but MJ does say that he can identify with what Kobe's experiencing. Superstars understand superstars.

And that's why the Jordan comparisons need to stop. He played with less talent than kobe and never demanded a trade. He got what he wanted so he needs to STFU and deal with it.

Well......................Kobe know's he has put them in a no win situation.

Buss and everybody in the front office know that the LAKERS ARE NOT in a position to get all the peices of the puzzle around KOBE NOW.
We talking 3 or 4 players with one of those being a TOP LINE PLAYER.
It ain't gonna happen in 1 year.

It's either trade him IF they can find a taker and a good deal, or be saddled with an UNHAPPY, MOODY, SUPERSTAR on a team that's already struggling.

It would be a bigger disaster to keep him now even if he is the top 1 or 2 draws in the NBA.

Stag Kobe was thinking was going to blow up like it did. He thought if he was the man he could still win in LA but now that everybody around him is bailing out on him now he wants out to because it is the organization fault. Kobe cant be a GM.

Kobe posts on his Web site about rift growing between himself, Lakers

Associated Press

Updated: June 17, 2007, 4:08 PM ET

LOS ANGELES -- Kobe Bryant posted a message on his Web page Sunday strongly suggesting the superstar wanted to be traded from the Lakers.

"When you love something as much as I love the Lakers its [sic] hard to even imagine thinking about being elsewhere," he wrote on his Web site, kb24.com. "But, the ONE THING I will never sacrifice when it comes to basketball is WINNING."

The two-time scoring champion also wrote: "The more I thought about the future, the more I became convinced that the Lakers and me just have two different visions for the future."

The 28-year-old nine-time All Star has four years left on his contract, but can terminate it following the 2008-09 season.
