How about going outside of the box and trying to get a coach that hasnt coached in the HBCU ranks before? I dont get why teams dont try to go after these highschool powerhouse coaches. And no im not talking about the likes of Bell because his team wasnt even good in high school. Its like im surprised none of the smaller colleges aside from LaGrange College ever went after Steve Pardue @ LaGrange. The man could make wine out of water with whatever talent he had, won a national championship and 4 state championships. I dont get the whole logic of recycling the same coaches over and over again.

I don't want a good darn position coach. I want a good darn HEAD COACH!!! Alcorn is basically promoting all of Ernest Jones's brought in staff to head coach one by one. The hell with what the players want. The want a coach like Wade Philips and do what they want to do. It is what they need. They need someone who takes "no excuses" and teaches them that "hard sacrifices" must be made for a Championship Football Team.

Great point.. Another big concern is how long will it take to establish a qualified candidate to hire as coach? NC A&T, HOWARD, DEL STATE now ALCORN.

Spears has already received offers from 2 schools wanting him for their OC. He won't make a lateral move. From conversing with a lot of alums , he seems to be the most wanted.
