JSU interviews have started and recommends


1. Unless he's just batty, Comegy won't pull that mess he pulled against Norfolk and Morgan on us. This is the type of job he's been wanting. Remember he came to us last time.

2. For all of those who have concerns about his adjusting to the D-1AA level, save them. If Anthony Jones can have some success(for them at least) moving from Morehouse to A&M, what makes you think a better coach can't have more success moving to a better program? Better yet, if Billy Joe can go from NAIA success to D-1AA success at FAMU, why can't comegy? The admittance standards at the D-2 level isn't all that different from D-1AA.

3. Lets not forget that Comegy can flat out coach. Period. A good coach in D-2 is a good coach in D-1. Heck even Hal Mumme was able to have success in the SEC at sorry Kentucky coming from Valdosta.

Jones was 2-1 vs. 'Skegee when he was at Morehouse. Jones whipped his arse while he was at "Skegee, and he'll do the same once he arrives on Lynch St....if he doesn't pull a fast one on y'all like he did No-fuk-U. Y'all are pretty guillable you know (i.e. James Bell.)

Yeah, I was surprised that you guys beat them like that but if Jones could not beat Hughes, he dayum sho won't beat Comegy. Jones can't beat Comegy. Again, if so, tell me when or what their head to head record is.

Tuskegee coach, winner of 89 games in last 10 seasons, in line to be JSU's next coach

Tuskegee University coach Rick Comegy is a search committee's choice to be Jackson State's next football coach, according to people with knowledge of the search.

A nine-person committee recommended Comegy's name to JSU presid ent Ronald Mason Jr., Wednesday afternoon following a 2 1/2-hour meeting, sources said.

Comegy's hiring is pending a background check and Mason's approval.
Robert Kelly, who headed the search, would not comment on the choice. He did say Mason could override the committee's choice.

....regardless, he finished behind Comegy EVERY time. Therefore, he was pulling TxSo's way back then...LOL

I am wondering how Comegy and Culberson are going to interact (for the time being anyway) because of the problems they had 3 years ago. Rumor is that Culberson told Comegy in so many words not to even waste his time...LOL

I don't see Slick rick Comegy leaving Tuskegee for Jackson State University anytime soon.. However I do believe the next head football coach at JSU will probably be either L.C. Cole or legendary Billy Joe.. Because Comegy want chance to win another national title against pwc.. The only conference that will give him that opportunity is the meac.. so don't be surprise he might end up coaching at north carolina a&t..

Thank you! Heck, he wouldnt have interviewed for the job and wouldnt have went on record stating that he wanted it 3 years ago when it was given to Bell.

He wouldn't leave Tuskegee not knowing who his next boss will be. No way.

I understand that part...the NSU thing. But I don't agree with Blackcaesar's comment about him wanting to only coach at a school that participates in the playoffs.

We all understand what you are saying but all indications suggest that the NSU fiasco was becasue he wanted the JSU job. Also, if he thinks he is gonna run ish at JSU, he can stay where he is. Mason ain't playing that. He is not going to hire an AD for the benefit of the football coach. Where's LC??? ....and trust me, he better not take too long signing that contract. He does not want to start off on the wrong foot with JSU fans or he will be "Hughes'ed"
