Joe Webb....

Dr. Phreeze

It is I...Yes it is...
....is playing a decent game tonight. JR What up? Do you think TJ would be playing against the Eagles like this? HELL NO!!!!

I'm the biggest Joe Webb fan in the world right now. He's helping the Bears get that No. 2 seed. However, I wish he would throw a few more passes to Sidney Rice to help my fantasy team.

The kid did look fairly good, played with a lot of poise. In addition to making Webb the clubhouse leader for the QB position next year, it might have just secured the full-time coaching job for Leslie Frazier.

Beyond that, every weakness the Eagles have was exposed tonight. The OL is beyond terrible, Vick took a real beating, he shouldn't see the field on Sunday.

Right. Just let Kolb start against the Vikings.

I would love for the Bears to get that #2 seed, but that game in Green Bay next week will be tough. Green Bay has a lot to play for themselves.

This game wrapped up at least the 2 seed for the Bears. They have an outside, albeit it highly unlikely, shot at the 1 seed.

Joe Webb was a much better college player than TJack.... He put up some impressive numbers at UAB.

Joe Webb just came off the freaking practice squad and looks better than TJ. TJ needs to carry his sorry azz back to Bama.

Joe Webb is also from Bama. B'ham's Wenonah High school. Be careful....talking about Bama folks.

I guess the post i made about T.JAckson isnt the answer proves my point to the people who thought jackson havent been giving a chance.

Joe was never on the practice squad. Remember the Vikes traded Rosenfels before the season to the Giants. Webb has been the 3rd Qb all season. He had impressed folks long enough to get the 3rd spot.

I agree. Vick will not see the field from what it looks like. The Eagles spot is secured and they lost any chance for a 2 seed last night. So I imagine Reid will play Kolb. Plus they need to keep showcasing him for an eventual trade this offseason. They will not pay him and Vick.

Not at all. TJack played under Chilly's dumb arse. I still fault Chilly for his development. Favre has almost said the same thing about how the Qbs were being developed here. I keep telling yall you had to be here in Minneapolis to understand just how bad the coaching was. I would not be shocked if Frazier fires Bevel and the rest of the offensive staff this off season. Maybe now that Bevel can call the plays instead of Childress. Maybe he will get a chance to stay. The good thing for Joe Webb is that Chilly isn't around to ruin him too. TJack has to go anyway because the fans tie him to Childress and that second round pick they moved up to get him. So it was 3 people the Vikings fans wanted out of here. Childress, Bevel and Jackson. One is gone. The other is probably gone for sure. Bevel is the question mark. Depends on Frazier.

Webb developed under Chilly also, except for the last few weeks. I'm sure he only took the most reps this week in practice.

Nah........all Joe did was hold a clip board when Chilly was here. Folks were on Childress to get Webb on the field in some capacity. Run some plays for him or something. The local reporters even commented how much of a shame it was to see Joe just holding a clipboard when he had some raw talent. Most wanted to see him take over the second string job instead of TJack having it. Webb has obviously been able to take some snaps now that Favre and Jackson both got hurt. But Childress gets no credit for Webb at all. Except for drafting him. And even then, there was some scout who convinced him to do that.

I was very impressed with the young man last night. He's made some big steps since I last saw him play.

Yeah he looked relaxed. Last time he was thrown in there when they played the Giants. Jackson took all the snaps during the week. Against the Bears they were screwing around with that Favre playing at the last minute crap. This week, he knew he was going to start and took all the snaps and had time to prepare. I think he will get better as time goes on and a good off season. Big kid with some physical tools. Folks up here are comparing him to a young Daunte Culpepper when he first took over. Athletic Big Qb with a strong arm.

The Vikes are kicking themselves for wasting time this year with TJack. TJack has made it hard for black QBs going forward....especially BCF QBs.

No he hasn't. If that was the case Josh Freeman wouldn't have been drafted in the first round by Tampa Bay. Aint nobody in the NFL paying any attention to TJack. Hell nobody had him as high as Chilly did on their draft board. The coaching in Black college football has made it bad across the board. It aint just Qbs not getting drafted. HBCUs have a hard time getting any player drafted these days. Can't blame TJack for that. If another McNair comes along in BCF then they will get drafted. If not.......then they won't. Just like it has always been for black college Qbs. You have to light it up and then measure out in the combines. TJack at least did the latter. Like I told you before. Sad arse Jamarcus Russell made it bad for all black Qbs. You can't be no bigger bust than being the overall number 1 pick. LOL.

BTW, if the Vikes are kicking themselves it was for wasting time with Brett Favre arse this year and giving Chilly an extension after last season. TJack played 2 games when they were already out the playoff race. Their failure falls squarely on Favre and Childress. Some on the defense like Jared Allen who did nothing until the end of the year.

Despite playing for a losing team in a middling conference, Webb's accomplishment of being the first player in NCAA history to throw for 2,000 yards and run for 1,000 more in consecutive seasons is impressive.
