If you take a closer look, you'll see that ViLou is in Concordia Parish which is right on the shin part of the state. That's Crossroads, but we consider ourselves North like those in Catahoula and Tensas Parishes.
Yep, iggant Cajuns and c**n azzes re-elected him assuming that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend..."
What about M. Carter, a teacher in Ferriday?
Interesting break down of the state. Never new they considered the northern tip sportsman paradise. With all of the wild game hunting, crabbing, crawfishing, among other things, like the saints, hornets, zephyrs, etc. I thought South Louisiana was holding down that title.
If you read what I typed below the map, you'll noticed I said Concordia Parish, but yes that area has more of a North Louisiana feel. I bet a lot of the people from that area travel between Alexandria and Monroe to shop and do business, just like the folks in Marksville travel between Alexandria and Lafayette to shop and do business, which is why CENLA identity is a mixture of both North and South Louisiana. You are either in CENLA or North Louisiana, but you can't be in both.
I'm kin to the Carters in Ferriday. The Jeffersons also.

Do you know a young lady who finished from Southern that teaches at the Junior High?
Growing up, I was always told anything past Bunkie is North Louisiana (but I know Alex is Central Louisiana). :emlaugh:

Ferriday or Vidalia? Remember now, I'm over 40 so if they came out after 89, then more than likely I would not remember them.
Ferriday

Bunkie is in the Crossroad area of the map I posted. The Mayor of Alexandria family comes from the Marksville area. Alexandria is mixture of different parts of Louisiana, which is why when we were in high school, we would be all over the State of Louisiana, since we were within a 2 hours drive to most cities in Louisiana.
That makes sense. I was just telling you what I've heard folks say in South Louisiana (right or wrong).

One can't be in Central and North Louisiana at the same time. I remember working in Ruston, LA, I had to correct a co-worker of saying that Alexandria is in South Louisiana. Alexandria is straight Central Louisiana.
I'm sure they did, just like folks in the Ruston/Grambling area would say Alexandria is in South Louisiana. Got dammitt give us our identity, which Central Louisiana (CENLA). :emlaugh:
True, I agree with you. But I'm telling you many folks in South Louisiana have drawn the line and considers Alexandria part of Louisiana Yankees. No CENLA exists as far as they are concerned  :emlaugh:
Let see if I can develop a litmus test. Do they sell boudin, boiled crawfish and hog crackers in Alexandria?
Most definitely, with plenty of meat markets owned by people from Marksville.

Deer, squirrel, and duck hunting is in the north, crabbing, crawfish, and other fishing is in the south. You should see all the folks from South Louisiana heading north to do a little deer hunting.
