The Father's Day speech wasn't a bad message... it's just that he chose not to address anything specifically ailing the Black community for most of his campaign, but when he did it was only this.

Either speak on it all or not at all.

The NAACP speech this week covered a much broader scope and included more than just criticisms.

Depends on what he would have said when he was there.

The Father's Day speech wasn't a bad message... it's just that he chose not to address anything specifically ailing the Black community for most of his campaign, but when he did it was only this.

Either speak on it all or not at all.

I'm sure you realize that if he talks about things specifically ailing the black community then he will come across as favoring only black people. You still have people out there who thinks he's a muslim secretly ploting with Farrakhan and his wife is the secret President of the Black Panthers. He has to try extra hard to come across as a guy who is trying to address all of the problems were facing together.

What he said about black fathers was on point and said at the right time.

Every minute he has to "explain" his words or actions, when ever someone from he party disses McCain, McCain make it known what Obama SHOULD(in them white folk eyes, HE BETTER) do. I know and understand he represents change more than the next candidate, I am just calling it as I see it. Watching this foolishness only makes me wonder who else will be running the white house if he do get elected, and further more WHAT will he do for us BLACKS in this country. My hypothesis is nothing any white president wouldn't have done, because he has made it clear "THIS COUNTRY and WHITE" don't owe us blacks who slave and built this country nothing. It's amazing how after all we been through as a race we let so much slip pass us. But that is the result of us getting caught up in the perception we are apart of the strongest most wealthiest country and we too can be like "them"...lol

I'm not a person that sit around waiting for something to come to me..But fugg all this, we have to do for ourselves talk..Hell MANY of us already ARE, the U.S. no matter what a black man say that is trying to get into the oval say, OWE "US"....

When you dig a friend's grave because he was a n****r and lynched. When you enter school to see the words "n****r go home". Same thing is true for welfare. There are more whites on it than blacks. Now the percentage of blacks compare to our numbers in America may be more.
There are not enough registered Republicans to beat any Democrat. There are other factors.

Old General William "Uncle Billy" Tecumseh Sherman, he definitely didn't take any prisoners, Black or White. In my opinion, Colin Powell is a modern day Sherman, both men believed more in being a soldier then a politician. Sherman knew exactly what it took to make them good ole Southern White folks adhere to the rules. He definitely believed in fighting fire with fire. I liked his war tactics and the man cared about his soldiers, along with General Hooker, which the term hooker was derived from, but that's another story. Southern Whites definitely was scared of him. General Sherman was also the first superintendent of LSU at the start of the war, which was in Pineville, LA at the time. As a in your face to Sherman, the Confederate used the two cannons he donated to the school's ROTC as the first shots fired on Fort Sumter, SC. Those two cannons presently are located in front of LSU's Military Science Building today. But old Sherman got the last laugh when he storm through Georgia and the Carolinas.
