JROCK's Perspective...

First let me state that I'm about the same age with Obama a few months separate us. Although, I love hip hop, I also love R&B & Jazz. Hip Hop is also a culture so I don't consider myself "hip hop."

Jessie: Has done great work in our community and in the past has spoken up for those that didn't have the courage or lacked the capacity to do it themselves. He has had the unmitigated gall to challenge the government as well as corporations in the past. Jesse has stood on broad shoulders such as King, Marshall, Evers etc. Obama is now standing on broad shoulders such as Jessie's. My suggestion to Jessie is to accept this and handle it with more poise.

Scope: Everyone in our community choose their own path, whether it is a civil rights activist, accountant, engineer etc. If one does not like what civil rights activist are about, then get in the fight and stop pointing fingers. Jessie cannot be everything to everybody. If he chooses to fight against white on black crime and you are at odds and would prefer to wage a war against black on black crime, start your own organization and fight the good fight. Don't expect someone to do something you can do!

Taking Issue: Jessie Jackson was WRONG as two left shoes in making his comment about Obama. Further his gross depiction of what he would have liked to do to Obama is antithetical to every one's shoulders that he has stood on and wreaks Jim Crow Justice. I believe he is much better than what he exhibited in his heat of the moment comments. Next, the Right Reverend Wright didn't know when the HELL to shut up. He did a decent job on the Moya show and his address to the NAACP. He should have left the scene with grace. Unfortunately, his pride (one of the 7 deadly sins) made him go to that press club luncheon and we know the rest.

My wish: Some of these far left Negros just shut the hell up and let Obama do his thing. He is running for President of the U.S. not just for special causes or demographics....

He really doesn't have to bloody his own hands for this one. Jesse has done the work for O'Reily.

Well I'm sure he has for some PJ, but I just can't lose any sleep over it. To me there are waaay to many others things that are far more important for us to me concern with then Jesse talking behind Obama's back, and at the end of the day, that's all it was.

Riiight... and he really wouldn't want to do that.
See below.

Like any other presidential campaign, all that is said is important. Just in this campaign more will be said and more that is said will be covered and therefore it is important.

Fox: Jackson used racial slur to refer to blacks in off-air remarks where he criticized Obama

The Associated PressPublished: July 17, 2008

CHICAGO: The Rev. Jesse Jackson used an emotionally charged racial slur during a break in a TV interview in which he criticized presidential candidate Barack Obama, Fox News confirmed Wednesday.

The longtime civil rights leader already came under fire this month for crude off-air comments he made against Obama in what he thought was a private conversation during a taping of a "Fox & Friends" news show.

In additional comments from that same conversation, first reported by TVNewser, the African-American leader is reported to have said Obama was "talking down to black people," and referred to blacks with a slur commonly referred to as the N-word when he said Obama was telling them "how to behave."

Though a Fox spokesman confirmed to The Associated Press that Jackson used the slur, the network declined to release the full transcript of the July 6 show and did not air the comments.

Jackson ? who is traveling in Spain ? apologized in a statement Wednesday for "hurtful words" but did not offer specifics.

"I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologize again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public," Jackson said in a written statement. "There really is no justification for my comments and I hope that the Obama family and the American public will forgive me. I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people."

Isn't this the same fox network that had the so-called October surprise that they weren't ready to release?

There isn't one thing about what Jessie said is this news worthy. While people are getting all in a huff about much to do about nothing, John McCain is stumbling and flip flopping all over himself and not one word is being said about the so-war expert that doesn't know anything about the war.

Blue.
Come on.:dizzy:

If this had been any other person in the Political Public eye beside's Jessie Jackson saying this, black people would have been calling for a public execution and you know it.

No that isn't true, I think what you meant is if it had been a white person they would be calling for his head.

Do we have to keep going over the same simple reason why that is?

Even that to some degree isn't true, you don't hear anyone calling for Pat Buchanan's head or Sean Hanity's head.

Like I said already, IT ISN'T THAT NEWS WORTHY just as many of you didn't think that what Rev. Wright said was that news worthy to continue to loop over the airways for weeks.

Don't confuse my position with me feeling it shouldn't be debated amongst ourselves, but to give Fox of all network a drop of credibility without any evidence to me is just as dumb as what we know Jessie to actually say.

I repeat the question; Isn't this the same Fox network that had an October surprise that they confirm but wouldn't release to the public?

AHHH.
Remember how everybody wanted Bobcat BOB head after he made those comment's about Obama about a month ago?
Remember what happened to TRENT LOTT for making a comment at Strom Thurmond's birthday party?

And I don't care if it is FOX news or whatever.:smh:
That's no out for Jessie.
People alway's dismissing FOXNEWS but CNN, MSNBC, etc., are no better because they slant their stories in the other direction.
I don't believe anything from either of them until I research for myself.

Fox News didn't have their hand up Jessie's back, controlling the words comming out his mouth.
All this white washing of anything some "black leader" say's under the bullshat of "black's don't air their dirty laundry in public" is garbage.

Jessie need to be held accountable the same way he has tried to hold black youth's accountable for calling each other IGGA.
He also need to accept the fact that he is not the "spotlight" black person in this political season.

Sounds like a contradiction to me, and just what proof of research do you have that he said the word N!@@ger? If you don't have any than you might as well start bashing Michele for her whitey remarks, that you have just as much proof of also
:rolly:

Blue.
I know you would rather eat cold dog shat than admit the Walk on Water Jessie Jackson was wrong, BUT YOUR BLIND LOYALTY TO HIM IS KIND OF SCARY.
Ain't no contradiction.

I just don't place one new's agency credibility higher than the next unlike you.
You watched the word's come out of Jessie's mouth about the nut's, and now that this IGGA thing has come out, where is Jessie at, saying HE DIDN'T SAY IT.

Fox said they didn't put it in the origional story because he made that IGGA comment off mike.
Now if he didn't say IGGA, why in hell is Jessie letting people smear his name by spreading lie's on him?
Even Rev. Al is in the NY Paper's saying he is disappointed in that remark.

Jessie fugged up and I don't care if he said it on Fox news or in Rev. Wright's former church.:smh:
He fugged up plain and simple, end of story.:xeye:

And BTW:
I love the way you erased the entire comment about CNN, MSNBC and FOX just to make your "contradiction" post.
Love the way you just dismissed the part about Fox not having their hand up Jessie's back making him say those word's also.

If some of you would get off your high horse and stop thinking that anybody who doesn't jump on the JUMP ON JESSIE AND AL BAND WAGON with you thinks that they walk on water, you might be able to see clearer what it is that I'm saying (as simple as it is).

Instead of posting replies that doesn't have anything to do with you having factual proof that Jessie made reference to us as n!@@ers. or repeating the obvious, try stop concerning yourself with what SOME white folks are going to say or think (that is the motivating factor, whether you admit it or not), because at the end of the day, they're going to say and think it anyway, and Jessie nor AL ain't got isht to do with it.

But if that's all you got of my many post than... Kay Sa Ra Sa Ra

Yep Blue.
Anytime you can't change shat, you start talking bout people concerened with YT.
I never said one damm word about concerning myself with some WHITE OPINION.:smh:
Use that bull on someone else.

You can spin this in all the circle's you want.
Jessie fugged up.
That has not changed. :xeye:

I think he made a mistake but not big enough to warrant a large media smearing. Repubs have been in bed with people who give WORSE comments EVERYDAY of their lives.

Google me this:

1) Did what Jessie say hurt Obama Politically?

2) Did what Jessie is alleged to have said hurt Obama Politically?

3) Did what Jessie say change anything in the black community in a negative manner that isn't already being done?

4) Did what Jessie alleged to have said change anything in the black community in a negative manner that isn't already being done?

5) Did what Jessie say change anything in player's community in a negative manner that isn't already being done?

The answer to 1 and 2 are no. Yes is the answer to the rest.

Though I don't agree with Jesse's choice of words, I do agree with his reason behind the words.
We already have Bill Cosby giving this speech, with the white man in the back ground snickering at us, why we need a potential first black president picking this time to do it AGAIN, he need to be addressing the economy but he has time to piggy back Bill Cosby.. My question is FOR WHAT?!?!
If he is going to go there, why don't he offer some solutions as to what "WE" (if it is anything "WE" can do by ourselves with out a BLACK president) to get "OUR" black people to the same fair playing field as the whites in this country.. I get sick of hearing OUR leaders trying to SHAME us when it isn't 100% our fault we are in the positions we are in as a whole as a race... especially when it is a large percent the fault of the WHITE man.

I have nothing against who folk want to vote for Obama, but all I see Obama doing with this message is pigging backing off of something he saw Bill Cosby get pretty good response for. He saw the only people that were against Bill were the POOR folk or "ignorant folk" if that's what we want to call them, but in my eyes they are the people that are a direct result to what this country has done to us, and they are what these white folk want to see us blacks all become...

For some reason when our people finish school and become a lil something we want to say what Frankie and Johnnie ought' to be doing... Naw, I do see it like that, I see it as those of us that did make it, we were the strong ones that fought against odds that were against us, which is a fight WE all knew MANY of us couldn't win. Now we so call made it, we want to jump on a band-wagon when a BLACK MILLIONAIRE wants to down them "US". Like some folk say on here, "I just wasn't raised like that"....

What Obama is doing with this "Black" issue is like one of us going off on a family drunk in front of strangers putting all of his business out there... I know some will say.."well our business is already out there".. But we don't need THEM thinking none of this is their fault, hell MOST of it is THEIR fault.

We must be very aware of opportunists such as Najee Ali, Mo' Kelly and right-wing media.. Obama should focus more on issuse i.e. national sercuity, education reform, balance the budget, solving mortage crisis, reparing our infrastructure for modern economy in the 21 century and improving America image around the global..

Whoopi and the other black lady supported the use of the word n****r among blacks but not whites. It got heated. Barbara was told that 'I don't want to hear the word coming from your mouth'.
I saw the clip on O'rielly not the show.

Now my opinion, the white folk were right! It is a shame when whites have to try to get US to stop calling each other niggger.
