Jerry West: LeBron has surpassed Kobe as a player

All this and Lebron sitting in the Locker room with Mo williams with ice all over his body..Them mofos looked sader than George Carl did last night.

Bottom line is this: Lebron and co. failed the first test of the post season. I mean Delante West is a nice player but a go to guy. LOL

You have Lebron,Mo and Ilgaskis. Then Delante. after that the rest of those dudes are garbage. You guys sipped to much of the Detroit and Hawks coolaid.

LeBron never really had the rebound. It was a loose ball and Lebron and Hedo went for the ball at the same time.

On that same possession, LeBron did the right thing. He passed the ball to an open Williams who swung it to West who was open. West just missed it. LeBron passed him the ball with 40 seconds left and he nailed a corner three.

Hey, had Steve Kerr hit a game-winning shot in the playoffs before Mike passed him the ball to win Game 6 against the Jazz in 1997? I sure don't remember any Kerr made before that game.

All I know is, Lebron is in pain right now due to cramps and who knows what else.
Not being in close games can be more of a curse than a blessing. Close games tend to build character. Lebron played good, but again, they've never been in this situation before, especially Mo Williams. We'll see if they can rebound from this loss, but again, they MUST win game 2.

Didn't LeBron and the Cavs go to the Finals in 2007 and been in the playoffs since then? So I'm guessing Cleveland has been in tight postseason games before.

Not Mo Williams, the second best player on the team. I mean, their offense totally fell apart. They reminded me of the old Cavs one---four spread offense they used to run a couple of years ago where Lebron just bulls his way to the goal or pull up for a jump shot. There was no movement on offense at all.
They'll have to regroup and show what they're made of.

It will be interesting to see how Cleveland responds to their first real test of these playoffs. The Cavs are fine. They just have to manage possessions on offense and defend the three point line.

Different team (key players) other than a few remaining players.

What? That makes no sense. How many players on the Orlando Magic have been to conference finals? Yet, they beat a more exprienced Boston team in Game 7 on the road and stole Game 1 from Cleveland after being down 16.

Heck, the 2007 Cavs did not have that much experience when the beat the Pistons in the conference finals? Cleveland just played better in that series.

At the end of the day guys have to step up and make plays to win. Experience does not matter. It does not take experience to make a open 20-foot jumper or play defense.

Yeah, you could see LeBron's 49-point game really being an hinderance to him tonight.

But you must realize what West said. West said Lebron maybe better, but he would have Kobe taking the last shot. In other words, Kobe's clutch and Lebron's not AS clutch. West was right.

You can't be this dense. The 2009 Cavs had not had close playoff game until tonight. This was their first one and they must respond.

The Magic had a few tough games in the 1st and 2nd rounds.

Playing in close games does not matter.

The team that plays the best over a seven game series will win no matter what. How many Game 7s did Boston play last year? Two, right? Won them both. They played 25 OTs against the Bulls and eventually won that series.

But Orlando beat them by 19 in Game 7 last week on their floor even though Boston had played several "close games" in the playoffs before.

Cleveland lost because they did not execute down the stretch. Lewis hit a three-point shot over a seven-footer to win the game. If Lewis clanked it, then would you have said close games matter? Nope.

West missed an open three, right? You think it was because he never played in a close playoff game before? I don't think so. Heck, he made a three with 40 seconds left moments earlier to give Cleveland a lead.
