Geno Smith picks Jay-Z's company to represent him

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — New York Jets rookie quarterback Geno Smith announced after Wednesday's organized team activities practice he has hired Jay-Z's newly formed Roc Nation Sports as his representation, choosing a relative unknown in Kimberly Miale as his contract agent.

Jay-Z is not certified by the NFL Players Association, so Miale will have to handle all contract negotiations.

"Not that big of a role. It's just the agency," Smith said when asked if Jay-Z was a factor, though few will believe that claim after seeing an Instagram photo of the two. "When you're talking about being in New York from the standpoint of what they can do through the city, all the connections they have, I think it's a good move.
