Jackson State University’s Homecoming Game with Grambling State University will be played as scheduled.

Grambling officials have confirmed their team’s travel to Jackson for Saturday’s game, set for 2 p.m. at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

"The game is the centerpiece of our Homecoming Week,â€￾ said Eric Stringfellow, JSU executive director of University Communications. “We are excited our students, alumni and supporters will get the opportunity to cheer for the JSU Tigers.â€￾*

This rally is scheduled at the same time the team has football practice. As of now, according to the people I have talked to, there is NO guarantee the players are showing up for practice.

Manning, a former West Monroe standout, told The News-Star that an original meeting scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday did not take place and that "no one is talking to that snake," referring to Ragsdale.

Manning also said that as of right now, the team will not be playing Saturday but that could change, depending on the outcome of the meeting at 3 p.m.
