Uh where did you get that from? That project was a 14 million dollar one from the outset with the field house and other additions being added to the project. If you are an active SU alum you knew that. So 16 million aint far from what I saw initially a few years ago at an alumni conference. BTW, there are cost overuns you know.......the Twins have a new stadium being built here as I type.........the construction costs have already been said to exceed what was approved or budgeted in the beginning.

JR he listed to Jayrob and got that figure of 9 million... yeah THAT jayrob. :smh: dumb leading the blind at its best

She may be.........but she works for them other folks........and obviously Braddy aint happy right now.

C'mon homey, it ain't like that.... I know Rita. She lives in the neighborhood... She's good people...

Personally, I feel alot better knowing she's involved with the DFA in this thing, because they could've put a buncha other people in her position.

I believe when it all pans out, JSU'll get a good deal. And whether a contract gets signed or not, JSU's playing at the Friendly Confines. I know part of the ongoing discussion involves who has the authority to issue/enter into vendor contracts.

But they'll work it out.

Rita Wray's OK.. She's not gunna 'hose' us...... But I hope Braddy doesn't have unrealistic expectations.

:tup::tup:

Y'all are some defensive mofos ..... I just post a story, in the effort of getting news out to the masses and these fools are talking about our stadium, our players' grades, and the like.

What the pluck does any of that have to do with this article?

Your AD is worried.
The fear from Jackson is thick.
I hope it gets done for you, but to just pass it off like it's nothing .... you must be BOLD or extremely stupid.
The fear is thick? :lmao:

Ok T-made.........I know you tell it like it is and you are a fellow C'way Charger........so if you say Wray is good peeps then so be it. Maybe yall need to talk to Braddy to calm him down then. Cause he shole seems frustrated about something.

I look for the contract to be signed soon if this is the case and Braddy will be happy afterall.

Academic update...

Of the 26 guys signed on signing day, JSU coaches expect 24 to be academically eligible.

DE Avon Waters (Southside HS) and OL Etienne Odino (Northwestern HS) didn't make it.

There's about four guys waiting to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse, but they are expected to be fine.

Oh, the two transfers from Tennessee ? CB Ricardo Kemp and S Antonio Wardlow ? didn't do what they needed to in their spring semester and aren't going to qualify.

Per Kareem Blog.....

Players, I blame JR for this. Ever since he abandoned ship, everything over there has gone to hell in a handbasket. They don't know if they comin or goin. When the blind lead the blind, they both fall in the ditch.

Hmmm, 24 out of 26 are eligible? Sounds like a 92 percent eligibility rate. Ain't bad, ain't bad at all.

No smack...but sometimes announcing these FBS transfers prematurely (before they become eligible) isn't a good move. In a prior year, we did that with some kids, hyped their arrival in the paper, and projected them near the top of the depth chart only to have them never get eligible.

Yeah, some of those signings weren't supposed to get out to the media, but our beat writer has a blog. We've had some transfers on campus in the past few months who were never mentioned in the paper, but didn't make it due to not having their academics in order from their previous schools. Kemp and Wordlow slid thru the cracks. Kemp was originally reported as signing w/ Hampton.......guess we know why they dropped him.

mh, we already knew that two or three guys wouldn't make it. Comegy said that on signing day. I think it's a victory when at least 80% of your signing class shows up.

Re: J-State Running Backs

Hey J-State
First of all let me say, no smack intended in this question which is why I didn't place it on the smack board, but who is going to the starting back up there with Denardo Smith possibly out? What have ya'll heard about incoming or other backs to replace HAW?

Smith in the Wind....
http://www.clarionledger.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?Category=SPORTS030101

Terrell Walters who sat out last year, a couple of new transfers, and two incoming freshman!

Re: J-State Running Backs

Three incoming freshmen, actually. Smith did well in the Spring, but he didn't play any last year (actually redshirted at LB), so he doesn't really hurt our depth.

Re: J-State Running Backs

Our starter will likely come from this group:

Bloi De Dorzan(impact JUCO transfer)
Demarion Pippen(highly touted freshman from Tuscaloosa)
Vick Ballard(highly touted freshman from Pascagoula)

All of these guys are talented, but they have no game experience. So its a risk.

I'm putting my money on this guy.

Lackawanna CC transfer RB Bloi-Dei Dorzan is ripped. His arms are absolutely huge. And he said he runs a 4.3 40. He also said he picked JSU over Memphis. He'll have every opportunity to start.

Dorzon is a little too undersized for my liking. I was hoping to see Denardo Smith get about 18 to 22 carries a game and use Dorzon as a change-of-pace back, but now one of the 3 true freshmen RB's will really have to step up and play.

Defensive end Avon Waters, offensive lineman Ivory Waters and offensive lineman Etienne Odino did not clear NCAA guidelines and will not be with the team.Safety Antonio Wardlow and cornerback Ricardo Kemp, Tennessee transfers who committed after signing day, also did not qualify academically.Jackson State is still awaiting final word on quarterback Dominick Britt and offensive lineman Luis McLeoud from the NCAA Clearinghouse. Both Britt and McLeoud checked in on Saturday.

Hey C you know 95 Players report and 80% of our freshmen. We knew who wasn't.

Now AJ on the other hand has 75 bodies and player quiting left and right. Handle that..
