ITS CLASSIC CLASSIC....MEMORIES

My favorite Bama State show was probably the Africa tribute (around the early 90s) when they made a formation the shape of Africa and had the African dancers come out..... and their dance routine from 96 Classic.

They dusted that one off from the ol-skool archive vault. We originally did the "Africa Tribute" show in the 80s.

Ah yes....the Classic.....

93-the COLDEST CLASSIC EVER.....the night before it rained, and we basically practiced in a monsoon....during the game, the temperature just kept dropping and dropping.....then we stayed in there to film a commercial for the B'ham PD(punk bastids) while AAMU is outside Legion Field just WAILING.....that was the first year of "A&M ain't hittin on _________" I think....

94-except for our trumpets(S/D was on some other stuff that night), that was a total band demolishing in the BJCC for the BOTB....then it carried on to the game....

98-the ONLY Classic I have been to as alumni....and that was the BEST CLASSIC EVER....the football team with the big comeback....both bands going at it....man I had a ball....

Sometimes I wish I could be in two places at once, especially this weekend....but I can't play hookey...*looks at my CS Vette*

I will NEVER forget that one... That had to be the Coldest football game I have ever been to... I remember they had alot of space heaters in the bathrooms at Legion Field and everybody in the bathroom huddled around space heaters.

Yep.....you were DEFINITELY there all right! lol. Say DaHill, we may have been huddled at the SAME heater.

I enjoyed when both Alabama State's and Aamu's bands TOOK THE FIELD and played a song together promoting togetherness and unity. I really dug that. The love and pride that day was overwhelming.

Matter of fact, when we fought outside the stadium THAT DAY, I took into consideration the lesson we learned. Instead of me breaking the isht talkin' trombones palyer's jaw, I showed love and concern. He needed that jawbone to play his instrument. A broken jaw would threaten his schlorship. As a fellow musician I understand.

I politely pimp slapped his arse instead. Another example of the MMH doin' their part to increase goodwill toward our BIATC...uhhh SISTER school north of the state.

I don't have a picture of it but it was real. They stopped making it because it was too potent for those raised on Isomil and pampers.
