I remember despite Doug being a native son South Louisiana, there were signs in D’ville with the words “All the way with Elway.”
I remember going to the victory celebration in Zachary. I remember reading his book Quaterblack too.
It was very fitting that Doug broke all stereotypes about the Black QB and beat the Broncos with his arm. I do not think any of the four TD passes in the 2Q (still a record for most passes in a single quarter if I am not mistaken) were dink and dunk throws.
