Is There Anything Sacred???

Robber

Consigliere
I have had it up to here (picture Robber with his hand palm down at eye level) with these new artists butchering classic songs. I mean, what possesses some no sanging ass heifer to redo a Marvin Gaye song??? Any of his songs. Why would some two-bit, fly by night redo a great artist's song???

I don't know who the trick is, but I heard some heifer singing "Cause I Love You" or some response to it, yesterday, and I almost wrecked my damn ride in disgust. :smh::redhot: I'm sure y'all done heard it. I almost got a wreckless driving ticket. It was a brother cop, though. I explained what happened and he understood.

Y'all help me understand why some of our most cherished songs are being violated by these no sanging fools. These cats today are treating them songs like little boys in a catholic church. Such violations simply should not be allowed. Something needs to be done. And fast.

I think back a few months when one of my assistants told me that K. C. sang "Love Ballad" better than Jeffrey Osborne.:smh: She almost got fired right then and there. :redhot:

Amen Deacon Robber, Amen.

Look I don't mind a remake every now and then, but I think that there needs to be some type of rule that says that you have be some type of established singer. No new artist on their first album, who only has "studio" talent should be allowed to remake anything!

The problem is that many of todays artist can sing, but they are soloist. I mean they would be good in teh curch choir, and they may be able to carry a tune. But that doesn't mean that you deserve a recording contract. Sometimes I wonder who some of the A&R and devlopment folks are in the music game. I mean I may be a biologist by trade, but I know a garbage arse singer when I hear one!

Now I haven't heard this travesty yet, but thanks for the heads up Robber!

Simon, from American Idol.......send help!

It's the Record Companies Robber!

I used to get upset about this, but I realize I don't have any power over the record companies decisions, they are going to make their money any way they can.

I hate Remakes.... I feel like you need to get your own dayum song....

Gone are the days of creativity and raw talent. Now its "steal the bass line from this song" " steal the hook from that song". Come on people get your own **** and leave the hits alone....there now I've vented

Man when I heard Jamaine Dupree and Lil Bow Bow's remake of Curtis Blows basketball I just :smh: . I turn the radio..

carry on...

Same ol' isht

Y'all tell me how 'come Ashanti is getting billed as the next greatest thing in R&B when the only thing of hers on the radio is a remake of Biggie's song?!?!?

Didn't they do this same isht with Alicia Keys last year? Always about the flavor of the month....
