Is Peyton Manning just a glorified version of Tony Romo?

The Clown Prince of Crime
Seeing as how twitter blew up with Manning-Romo comparisons. See, the guilty always speak. Romo would have at least had them in 4th Qtr. Throughout his career, Peyton just doesn't show up in some games from Qtr. 1-Qtr. 4. But to some of you, Manning will still get a pass. Romo doesn't get a pass.

I think Tom Brady gets more of a pass than Peyton Manning, though.

Dude, you should punch yourself in the mouth.

The answer to your question is NO.

We wouldn't know since Romo cant even get his team to the playoffs and when he did, he has only one win. Lol. Peyton Manning could lose 2 more Super Bowls by 50 and not be as bad as Romo.

I've seen some not relevant threads but this takes the cake. I’m convinced this dude does this to see how many post he can eventually have on TSPN. Right now he is at 5,767. Damn, we'll have to read his nonsense for future generations.

Exactly. Brady led them to the AFCCG with no namers. Peyton looked horrible last night. That is 1-2 in the Super Bowl I think.

I mean, Tom Brady is still living off those three rings even though he hasn't won a Super Bowl in a decade. He shouldn't be the Teflon Don regardless of his WRs. The last big game Tom Brady won was????????

THANK YOU!!!

Peyton Manning's performances, records, and accomplishments speak volumes. 5 MVP's, played for a team he helped make to about 7 AFC playoff champioships, 13-time Pro Bowl player, at least 52,000+ passing yards for the Colts and about 400 TD passes, not to mention the numerous seasons he's passed for over 3500 yards! PMannining is a stellar, brand name, franchise QB who's already secured his place in the NFL HOF. Even with this loss, he could go on and lose back-to-back-to-back SBs and still be one of the greatest NFL QBs of all time, something that Tony Romo will never be.

And I won't even talk about his Tennessee days.

Peyton Manning is a great regular season QB but he lost two of those Superbowls. He did with bad throws and he has lost a lot of playoff games. He gets a pass but not from Me...Now is he Romo like...Go sit down dude....!!!!

No, he is no where near that terrible.
He stunk up the place last night though.
That D was too much for him and his crew.

Now Peyton has had an issue in the playoffs. The SB when they lost to the Saints was more on him than this one. I knew coming into this game that Denver was not good enough to beat Seattle. Hell they would have had a hard time against San Fran as well. Those NFC defenses are greater than the AFC. Even Brady has lost to SF and Seattle. Every since Pittsburgh and Baltimore's defenses got old and took a hit. The rest of the AFC defenses are not as intimidating and it made the Brady and Mannings look like world beaters the last couple of seasons in the AFC. But truth be told, they don't see any defenses like Seattle, SF, Arizona, the Rams, even the Saints defense is better than what they see in the AFC on a weekly basis.

The throw he made last night was caused by the DL who hit his arm. I like Peyton. But I don't give him or Brady a pass when they don't play well. Brady needs to thank Adam Viniteri for 2 of his 3 SB rings or he would only have 1. Another year and another SB where a high powered passing offense gets beat by a superior defense. Denver just lucky the Seahawks had to settle for FGs early on or it would have been a worse score at halftime. LOL.

Do we judge by rings or by play on the field? Even back-ups and 3rd strings get rings.

LOL. Dude, we ain't talking about backups. We judge on the overall career. Wins on the field in the regular season and playoffs. How you play in the big games and how many championships you win or at least get your team too.

Romo can't even get his team to the NFC title game. Hell, he can't even get his team to the playoffs. One win in the playoffs and that was a home win and then they got blasted the next week in Minnesota by Favre.

JR, are we in agreement it's harder to win the NFC than AFC? NFC= SEC. AFC=Big 10.

LOL. He didn't understand what I was saying. I was talking defenses that Brady and Manning are seeing in the AFC these past couple of years have not been as stout as the NFC defenses. Obviously he didn't even think that Baltimore won the SB last year. Now I will say the NFC overall was stronger than the AFC the last year or two. But no way he can compare the NFC to the SEC dominance. LOL.

naaaa.....peyton is ok. Heck his boss Elway lost 3 Super Bowls before winning his final two (Thanks to Terrell Davis). Right now Peyton is at 1-2 in the big game....still an impressive feat. Jim Kelly lost like 4 Super Bowls and he is a Hall of Famer.

Brady has won 3 and his team is always in the hunt. Can't take that away from the guy.

The Good Lord Himself could've been under center last night for the Broncos and it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. Peyton didn't lose that game last night. He contributed more to the loss against the Saints, but I won't put last night on him.

3 rings, 2 more Super Bowl appearances where he drove his team down for what should've been the winning score in both those games, but the defense couldn't close. AFC Championship game in '06, '12, and this season. Took a team with nothing on offense to the Conference championship game this year, and outside of the years he had Moss has never really had the kind of talent other QB's have. And Moss only really played on '07 - he got on his bullshit after that and was let go.

And they'll be in the running again next year.

I'm no Patriots fan, but you have to give the man his due.
