Is it fair to say that TN State is pound for pound the #1 HBCU Football Program the last 10-15 years

When you look TN State Football over the last 10-15 years, they really elevated themselves. They are still members of then Ohio Valley Conference and have basically owned the SWAC.

Grambling I believe is the only SWAC School with a winning record vs. TN State in Football. However, when is the last time Grambling played TN State?

It appears no one in the SWAC wants to see TN State. Considering what they've done, Pound for Pound, one could argue they are the Number #1 FCS HBCU Football Program the past 10-15 years.

They went into the OVC and Have Stayed There.

They actually won an FCS Playoff Game. Not an OOC Game but an actual FCS Playoff Game.

Their level of talent and personal is consistent in competing against SWAC Schools.

I may be wrong here but don't they have an indoor practice facility.

They have an indoor practice facility. They are the first HBCU to do that. We'll be #2 soonest. :D

And I agree, from a competitivity standpoint, they have been the most consistent over the last 15 years.
 
Believing it or not, I have been using the Sports Board as a HBCU Social Experiment. From it I created a scale concerning HBCU Funding/Facilities/Competitiveness on the Field.

Highest: TN State - Indoor Practice Facility - Consistent Competitiveness - Won an FCS Playoff Game. Member of a non-HBCU FCS Conference.

MH, they hit some lean times but they've been kicking other HBCUs azz during that 15 yr stretch sans AAMU (I think). They've practically owned po' ol' JSU. s....m.....h..... And kicked the shat out of PVAMU during that same timeframe.
 
Did the pound for pound best HBCU even win an OVC title in the last 15 years? One FCS Playoff wins? I mean, they ONLY play four or three HBCU's a year and J-State was their personal hookup for years. Did they step out to play anybody else? Hell, FAMU owned that ass for a minute. Southern split with them. I didn't see them running to play Grambling.

You're giving them this on beating J-State, AAMU, and who?

That indoor practice facility only cost 2 million. It's easy to build that when you don't play games on your campus. Their on campus stadium, Hale, is outdated. Alabama st facilities are way better than tenn st. And so is SU's and soon to be PV's when they finish.

Also, I'm sure that other school's performances against TnSU will be downplayed since TnSU isn't an (official) PWI.
 
yea.. we suk vs TNState and Grambling and winning the SWAC. We are good at beating PV, TxSo, UAPB, Valley, SU, Alcorn, AlaState, AAMU, etc... and winning the EAST.

A good JSU coach will have to beat TNState, Grambling and win the SWAC.

AAMU has never been superior to us. When they beat TNState, we beat THEM!

We(GRAMBLING) haven't played TNSU since 2002 when we beat them in Vegas 49 to 14. Would love to play TNSU again.

I agree TnSU and GRAMBLING are the TWO BEST. Even in a down year with them they are always still competitive. When a swac or meac team has a down year we look like it but TnSU only shows small minor mistakes are far as the team being young. They definently deserve to be respected. Hands down.
