SKIP

I'm a GHOST u no i'm here
i have one question, is DA BOX loved or hated?????? i had to ask this question because i've been checking for responses about what DA BOX did in birmingham, and how they did in birmingham and i was just trying to get an idea of what we did right and what we did wrong................holla back.

Whats up maan these boyz already started hatin on us skip! One dude from S.T.I.X. got on here talkin about that the BOX didnt show him nothin. The best part is that he didnt even see the show! We did show somebody something cuz they(ASU) said THAT WE WERE THE BEST SECTION THERE.

***Thinks to self***

I wonder what it'll be like when the SWAC world (besides those who see us just about every year) finally gets to see the Marching Storm????

If folks are trippin' on the BOX like that.....I can't help but wonder.

I guess you really can't satisfy EVERYBODY........

On the net....if you don't rep what e'erbody else reps then your "inferior". For instance, refer to the thread called "what is it?" Pure bullshat.

-B- remember this, you know, we know, and they know that DA BOX is better than good, we are trailblazer is in this drum pimping. don't feel bad because we work hard and we are innovative enough to not settle for the norm. let them hate because when people hate you, 9 times out of 10, you are doing something right. anyway, we are going to stay on our emotional high because we went to work....rejoice in the way the crowd and the media responded to what we did in birmingham, both days. so i said a B. O0000000000000000. X............B.O.-B.O.........X X............The crazy thing about it is we are still humble and we are not big headed we are just confident that we will show everytime we perform...i'm not saying that we will beat every drum section out there but i will say that if you come up against DA BOX, you better be ready because we will be.......... :redhot: :redhot:

My 2 cents on it....

It seems that the big complaint about the BOX is acrobatics. Now it seems that no one notices the level of playing ability displayed between as well as during the acrobatic feats. As one guy put is somewhere..."anyone can drag a tenor drummer around by his feet"

Well I say this to all that......

anyone can march and play a horn
anyone can do an 8 to 5 drill
any band can make a score on the field (no offense SU)
any band can let one cat go in front of the band and do a dance...

The point is......DID YOU DO IT OR COME UP WITH IT........

I give points for two things in the world of marching bands. creativity and difficulty.....

If you do something creative but not that difficult then I don't mind seeing it once or twice because the energy was put into coming up with the idea that effectively entertains the crowd. I don't care to see the manuevers very often because that means you are no longer using creative energy.

Difficulty gets points in my book for the sheer fact that it is hard to perform and perform correctly. On things like this I judge how well the manuever is performed and that is only when the difficulty level between the 2 groups is close to equal.

To sum it all up the BOX displays both of these in one package. Some of these sections talkin shat haven't displayed the same level of perfection on a similar level of technical difficulty nor have they displayed the same creative ability. Until thats done case closed.

I wish somebody would pull out a tape of some of the first features when the BOX didn't move and see if some of these sections can get past that first.

(still wanna see what UAPB was doin in the dome.....hint to my fellow Storm members to send a tape to their boy in da Lou)

to be honest i still refer back to the old tapes. when the first feature jumped on the scene back in 89', joe jackson(RIP) and rodney goods wrote the cadence out known as "THE FUEGE". "THE FUEGE" evolved into a feature and prof edwards bought into the idea of featuring DA BOX at halftime and the rest is history. i said that to say, that spark set fire to a new genre in which we have not looked back, we keep evolving this one feature every year....watch the tape and you will see that we kept the same foundation and proceeded to change the game.....creativity you said, and i say love for difference.

:redhot: SINCE THESE CATS HATE US ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY DO YALL HATE US? IS IT BECAUSE WE GOOD? EVERYBODY THINK E BIG HEADES. BUT THERE IS NO SECTION THAT HAS CAME CLOSE TO US. IF YALL THINK THERE IS A SECTION THAT HAS, POST THEM UP AND CHECK THE SWAC STATS FROM YEARS BACK. SKIP THEY CANT EXPLAIN WHY WE NOT THE BEST BUT THEY HATE ON US. DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME. WHAT BOUT U?

Well.....it's like I said:

You AIN'T gonna satisfy everybody.......so.......
Do what it is that you do best
and don't worry about the rest

That's what sets the Marching Storm apart from the others......

Way to rep.....BOX......

Trapp, imma tell you like this..... Friday at the Civic Center we got a standing ovation unlike the other sections. The fans screamed throughout the show because we wrecked that biacth like a drunk driver. Personally I think that the S.T.I.X. dude just hate us because we wrecked in their house, because everybody else gave us our props!

It takes a real man to be in the B.O.X.

STIX either love it or hate it

the only thing i can say is a crowd is 3 people, so if we entertained 3 people that is what the plan was anyway. we don't need a packed house, all we need is for the people that were there (despite the fact that they were teenagers), to enjoy the show. they could have been elementary school kids it wouldn't have mattered. and as for as your section, i don't hate so keep on keeping on and i hope you cats the best....but i will tell you personally mr s&lstixx that you must be pretty pissed with yourself because you should never hate on somebody just because you are a half azzed drummer, get in the woodshed and practice and then you won't be so mad the next you see something that you are not use to........:redhot: :redhot: :redhot: :redhot: oh yeah, as for as our cymbols, you must be really a hater because our cymbols are on point, i will say this i have $500 for you if you can find some cymbol cats that can beat our cymbols...

Skip I wouldn't even bet this young man because obviously he ain't got notning else to do but hate. Peep all he do when he get on line is talk isht. So Skip keep your money for another pair of cymbals so my lil sis can smoke they cymbal section!
