 @ beating the brakes off. You keep that jayrob. We'll take the win in the neutral stadium, helping y'all achieve #1 NOT top 10 along with these rings

Regarding the SWAC title game in football, which loss hurts the most?

1. The first time Jsu played the title game in Birmingham
2. The last time Jsu played the title game in Birmingham
-or-
3. The first time Jsu played the title game in Houston.

:snicker:

I have BAMA State winning the EAST but that's on paper only. When it comes to ranking teams on paper vs ranking them realistically, you have to go with the paper vote. BAMA State should win the EAST but we know they typically can't beat JSU. The EAST will be decided on what JSU does. If JSU is good, we win hands down.. If not, BAMA State wins the EAST. Alcorn is NOT about to go to Houston. The best they will do is 2nd place.

JS who will not be good, so winning hands down won't happen!! The Braves will be in Houston for the championship!!!:smash::smash:

So ... if Alcorn's going to take that next step...

1. How are they going to replace Walker, co-offensive POTY and conference's leading rusher?
2. Can Gibbs flourish as the focal point of the offense? Can they keep him upright like they did last season?
3. Can they continue to win the turnover battle like last season? Alcorn was plus-9 in turnover margin (10 fumbles recovered, 17 INTs for 27 takeaways vs. 11 fumbles lost and 7 INTs for 18 giveways). When your turnover margin is that great, you can only expect the ball not to bounce Alcorn's way like last season.
4. Can they generate pressure up front? It amazed me with the number of INTs they had last season, but only 14 sacks for that defense that finished 2nd in total defense? Teams now have an extra year of tape to break down Alcorn's defense, and it will be interesting to see if Alcorn defensively will get more aggressive.

1. 2 redshirts from last year will have people saying, "Walker Who"?
2. Redshirt QB was pushing Gibbs last year but the coaching staff decided to sit him out. Gibbs will be looking over his shoulder all season; plus Hodge from Mendenhall
3. The defense will be better. The DB's have the same tendacies as the Old Soul Patrol with Ike Holt and company. A redshirt Linebacker and a transfer D end will be hard to stop.

:quiet: lets remain quiet and let them see and find out for themselves lol.

I really want to see how Alcorn adjusts and responds to the heightened expectations this season. Hopson and company cannot afford a regression after winning nine games last season.

Alcorn State: Per source, Indiana offensive grad assistant Ryan Stanceck will join Jay Hopson's staff at Alcorn State as offensive line coach. Stanchek has spent the last couple of seasons at Indiana. He previously spent one season as a grad assistant at Florida State. Stanchek is a former offensive lineman at West Virginia from 2005-2008.

Heck, we've been waiting for 15 years. What's one more?:snicker:

Were you laughing when you saw that scoreboard at the end of the classic this past year? I swear some of yal jstank people through hell numbers out just cause. Math couldn't have been yal strong points.

That scoreboard didn't matter just like it won't matter this year. By the time JSU takes over your campus, you will already be out of the SWAC EAST race.. AGAIN!
