If Johnny Manziel falls to the Cowboys first in the draft?

Do you take him or not? I say yes. It's ultimately the player who decides if he wants to be coached or not.

Romo is getting there in age.

Cowboys won't be that low.. LOL ...and ya'll have your QB for the next 5 years... ROMO!

But I would love to see that thug Dez beat that azz.

Manziel is better than Romo right now.:emlaugh: If I was coach, I'd start him over Romo. What have they got to lose? Heck, they ain't winning no playoff games any how and ain't making no playoffs, so what's the big deal?:noidea::lol:

But anyway we need DBs. We are good at QB....for the most part. We need a solid Safties. Just like we needs last year when Jerry passed on Elam from Florida and Reid from LSU to get a mediocre TE. I'm glad Fredrick worked out at Center or I'd be highly pissed.

Take Him Cowboys!! Now that article is out about doing whatever takes, we are in a win-win situation:

1. Some team drafts Manziel just to hold him hostage and let a top 10 defensive player fall to the Cowboys OR

2. We draft and his infectious attitude gives the Cowboys some swagger.

But um ... who is going to cover the opposing receivers? And who will keep Romo/Manziel/whoever jersey clean on the O-line? Cowboys have more pressing needs.

I believe Jerry Jones would take him in a heartbeat.

One of the main reasons Jerry Jones hangs on to Tony Romo is because he's reaching out to the Hispanic market. Those Mexicans (in America and Mexico) buy a lot of Cowboys merchandise. It's all about profits to Jerry right now. He knows his team is a long way from winning a SuperBowl.

Manziel is money in the bank. A Texas boy from a Texas school going to Texas' most popular pro team? Sales, sales and more sales.

Football-wise, while I think he's better than Tony Romo I'm not sure Manziel will lead to more wins. Not unless Jerry Jones gets serious about getting players and coaches necessary to win and I don't believe he knows how to do that.

Hell no! We need defense and believe we can get Aaron Murray later in the draft.

I've been saying this. Injury is the only reason why Murray and Mettenberger will be 2nd-3rd round QB.

Heck they can get another Eastern Illinois QB in Grappalo (SC) later on in the draft to have a young future QB to step in when Romo gets hurt.

We got more pressing needs on the defensive side as well as the OL and a RB

Does Romo identify with the Hispanic community?

I don't know that he does, but that doesn't stop Jerry Jones from exploiting his heritage in order to sell jerseys and caps to Mexicans. Along with trying to get games in Mexico City and other things. It's no secret that the Jerry Jones sees Mexico as an opportunity to increase his fan base and has actively pursued their support.

Jerry Jones: Tony Romo’s Hispanic heritage makes him best possible QB for the Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys’ enormous fan base includes a large portion of Hispanic and Latino supporters.

And because of this, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones says Tony Romo is the perfect quarterback to lead the franchise.

“We couldn’t have a better quarterback,†Jones said Monday on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. “We just couldn’t. Bill Parcells and I thought he was Italian. Then we found out that his grandparents were from Mexico. We couldn’t have a better quarterback with a background of Hispanic for the Dallas Cowboys.â€

Whomever get him (Manziel) better have a decent offensive line. Manziel is a risk taker and will throw it up for grabs if too much heat is on him. He has big play capability if forced out of the pocket. He has a bad tendancy to palm the ball sometimes when he gets out of the pocket which he will not be able to get away with much in the pros. He is a gamer though and should be an asset to some team.

Yeah, being a gamer gets you kilt in the league mane. Manziel at times didn't look comfortable in the pocket and looked impatient when I watched him.
