IF Doug can Sue Gram why not JSU!!!


Folks keep saying JSU H.C. brings alot of money...Where is this money coming from??

Mostly from the fans of JSU right?? yep

Wasn't 30,000 fans from JSU out there this Saturday?? yep

So it's GSU fault that JSU didn't get the funds from their 'own' fans ok...

I guess GSU messed up the Comedy show and H.C. concert too and parade lol...

ummm, I was responding (and I even quoted it) where Journalist said the businesses in Jackson can sue Gram.

then ss goes on to talk about the expenses for security, etc on Saturday. Again, once the game was canceled on Friday, Jsu chose to go ahead with a scrimmage/event on Saturday.

Not today. But I wouldn't get too arrogant. It could very well be JSU tomorrow. And it probably will be. None of our schools are immune from this kinda thing. And if it was JSU it wouldn't have made national news like Grambling did, because JSU isn't known like that outside of the HBCU circle.

This episode has once again shown why Black people are at the very bottom of the social order not only in this country, but all around the globe. Nothing that happened with Grambling is funny. And instead of talking down we need to be trying to come up with some outside of the box solutions before it is our respective schools, because the same model that has Grambling in the state they're in is in place at every last one of our HBCU's.

I know for a fact SCSU is going through it right at this very moment, but we're not going to be a national story because SCSU isn't known like that nationally.

This is only new to ya'll.
People around here have known about this since Doug Williams was screaming about Grams finances and facilities way back in 2000 when he coached there the first time. Besides, if it was JSU, I would not want it to make national news. Only thing I would want to see is heads rolling and things corrected.

Forget being on the national news for screwing up.

The other side is to not let things get that bad in the first place before someone blows the whistle. When things have fallen apart so bad that you got to make decisions to not play games on just 1 days days notice, it has already went on way too many years and the problems have gotten way to expensive to fix already.

people should have been raising pure hell when they saw all that money being axed out of the budget instead of keeping quiet and just going along to get along. Just saying because they way Gram was throwing money at head football coaches, to the outside world, those numbers alone masked what was going on behind the scenes

It wouldn't be national news if it was JSU, is my point. It's national because it's Grambling and because people that don't really know about our schools can't believe this is happening at THE Grambling. The late, great Eddie Robinson's Grambling. That's why it's a national story.

I wouldn't want SCSU to be in the spotlight for this kinda thing happening either, but I also know we wouldn't be because we're not known like that. A few year after I left SCSU some students died at South Campus because of carbon monoxide poisoning. It wasn't a national story, but it probably should've been because it could've shed some light on the way our schools are funded and (mis)managed.

I hate seeing our schools featured in stories like this too, but what I'm really hoping comes out of all this is an honest discussion about the disparity in funding our schools receive vs. the PWC's. I'd also love it if that discussion turned into one about the stealing (commonly known as "financial mismanagement") that's been going on at our schools from the funds we do manage to get, and who's really doing the stealing. But that would require an outrageous amount of courage from some people in the know in our school's administrations and I know most of em ain't really built like that.
