If dude would have caught the damn ball or took it out of the defenders hand nothing would have been said.... I would have thrown it also... The field goal kicker cant kick to save his life... what else were they suppose to do... they were way out of his field goal range. The field goal kicker missed two easy kicks of about 35 yards.

Jay Feely missed again!!
At what point in time will Dan Reeves realize that he has a horrible kicker? I thought it would have been last year when Feely was blowing kicks and the Falcon fans sitting behind the goalposts would take bets on if Feely would miss wide left or right (they did that at the Falcons-Panthers game and the Falcons-Lions game last year).
This game should have never gone into overtime. If Feely would have made one of those kicks overtime wouldn't have been necessary. Feely has got to go!!

I would've thrown also. Feely is not a bad kicker, the problem is that new turf-play field. There are a lot of kickers who complain about how difficult is to kick off of that surface.
When the Saints made a change to a similiar surface, John Carney said that the surface is too difficult to kick off of, and it took some distance off of his kicks, and believe me it shows.
Carney is normally automatic inside of 40 yards, but yesterday he missed to kicks from 35 yards, and they weren't even close. I've never seen him miss kicks so terribly.

Ummm if I were Reeves I would have thrown the ball too. He was trying to get closer to give his kicker a chance. Plus when your record is a spoor as the Falcons, why not take a chance, you have nothing to loose anyway. You are just playing for pride and draft position now. But with the way your kicker has been playing, it was worth a shot to try and get closer. And to honest, Crumpler had his man beat, Had the ball been thrown better, it could have been 6.

So, what was Feely's excuse last year when they had Astroturf in the dome? Feely was blowing kicks last year. I saw this in person at 2 Falcons games.
He has one of the worst Field Goal percentages in the league. Feely is 9th from the bottom in terms of field goals. The announcers for the game were saying that they didn't trust Feely. They said that if you want Feely to make a field goal, it better be from extra point distance. That is a crying shame. Everybody knows that Feely is terrible.
The new turf may take some of your distance but Feely is missing wide left or wide right. His distance isn't a problem. His accuracy is terrible!!

I would love to see OU beat LSU 62-0, going for two in order to get 62. That would be poetic justice.

On this topic, I would have called a pass play, but not that far down field. I would have looked at something that worked the sidelines at most fifteen yards down field with maybe a WR, not a TE, going for the endzone. Hell, if you're going to throw it down field, make it a WR and in the endzone.
