I hope america has some lube - the screwing is getting ready to start

Foreigners are pulling back from U.S. debt like never before

http://www.stltoday.com/business/lo...cle_ce1f4f40-b53c-57d5-bdc9-2e90d9702b89.html

The biggest foreign creditors of the United States are suddenly having second thoughts about financing the U.S. government.

In Japan, the largest holder of Treasuries, investors culled their stakes in December by the most in almost four years, the Ministry of Finance's most recent figures show. What's striking is the selling has persisted at a time when going abroad has rarely been so attractive. And it's not just the Japanese. Across the world, foreigners are pulling back from U.S. debt like never before.

From Tokyo to Beijing and London, the consensus is clear: few overseas investors want to step into the $13.9 trillion U.S. Treasury market right now. Whether it's the prospect of bigger deficits and more inflation under President Donald Trump or higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve, the world's safest debt market seems less of a sure thing — particularly after the upswing in yields since November. And then there is Trump's penchant for saber-rattling, which has made staying home that much easier.

Let the screwing be hard too

Here's who would lose money under Trump's proposed tax plan

Most people would save money under the tax overhaul proposed by President Donald Trump, according to an analysis of the plan by the Tax Policy Center.

But not everybody.

Using the analysis, Business Insider broke down the financial implications of Trump's most recent tax plan — he has teased the release of an updated plan in the coming weeks — for a variety of tax filers.

By and large, the more you make, the better you would fare under Trump's proposed plan. But one group of filers could actually see their tax bill go up, depending on their tax bracket: families with children — especially single parents.

House GOP health bill adds up to big tax cut for the rich

https://www.yahoo.com/news/house-gop-health-bill-adds-big-tax-cut-192341206--politics.html

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Republicans' health care bill adds up to big tax cuts for the rich.

The bill would cut more than 20 taxes enacted under President Barack Obama's heath law, saving taxpayers nearly $600 billion over the next decade. The bulk of the money would go to the wealthiest Americans.

Low- and moderate-income families would lose their subsidies to buy health insurance in state and federal marketplaces. The subsidies would be replaced by tax credits to help them buy insurance.

Somebody explain something to me.
If a person is wealthy millionaire or even a billionaire and there is no way they will lose their money unless they just keep buying things they don't need or give it all away.
Why do those Republicans and some Democrats in Congress continue to look out for these people and try and help them save, keep, get more money through tax shelters or tax breaks?
It's already been proven that the poor and middle class help the economy. The more money those groups have, the more they will spend.

The best part is that they convince poor and middle income whites that somehow, one day they will benefit from these tax cuts for the rich.:confused::confused:

In a nutshell, because they are looking out for their puppet masters interest. Unfortunately, we no longer really live in a democratic republic, but instead an oligarchy whereby it is now government by the rich for the rich. The supreme court case Citizens United fast tracked the nation into it. It is no accident that Trump's cabinet is made up of people from the wealthiest of the 1%. Now, to answer your question even more plainly, Republicans and Democrats do what they do because it is their marching orders from the ruling elite in order to ensure that they, the ultra rich/ruling elite, are recipients of guaranteed high end welfare. As a result, if they are in a business sector that is failing or producing an undesired good or service they are insulated from ever becoming middle class or poor unless they just keep buying things they don't need or give it all away.

The House just passed a bill that affects overtime pay

Do you get paid for overtime work? The House of Representatives just passed a bill you may want to know about.

The measure, backed by Republicans, would let employers give workers paid time off instead of time-and-a-half pay the next time they put in extra hours. The vote tally was largely along party lines, with no Democrats voting in favor of the bill. Six Republicans also voted against it.

G.O.P. leadership has touted the legislation, called the Working Families Flexibility Act, as an attempt to codify flexibility for employees.

"I don't think there's anything more powerful than giving them more control over their time so that they can make the best decisions for themselves and their families," Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers of Washington said Tuesday morning in a press conference held by Republican leaders in the House.

The Trump administration also came out in support of the measure on Tuesday. The White House said in a news release that the president's advisers would recommend Trump sign the bill into law if it was presented to him in its current form.

But Democrats stand in strong opposition. Their chief concern is that employers have the final say on when comp time can be used, which means bosses can defer compensating employees for overtime work.

Unions may make a come back now. Reagan convinced y'all unions were evil. Unions helped build the middle class.
