Big Thunder said:I will be at the Stephenson and Redan game tonight. It will be carried live nationwide on Fox Sports Net (ComCast 48). The Stephenson Jaguars are ranked #5 in AAAAA in the state.
The game will be fun, but the bands are gonna be Fiyah!

Looks like Doug may be out of it..since they lost to Redan last week. You think Redan gonna slip it up under Steve too???
You must have lived in Georgia before integration. The only teams in the Atlanta metropolitian area that have any success in Georgia are the teams from Gwinett County. The teams from Atlanta and Dekalb County have good athletes but usually get killed when they face the power house teams from South Georgia. The high school football played south of Macon is as good or better than any high school football in the country.G-Man75 said:When I lived in the ATL alot of the GA. teams were inferior to the teams in La. and TX. in my opinion...... I remember seeing Reggie Ball(GA. Tech QB) play his senior year.

My son who starts at wide receiver, shown above scoring a touchdown against Cleveland St. Ignatius last week, and his 11th ranked in the nation by USAToday high school team.
As a father, I'm really enjoying watching him play. It doesn't get any better than this.
Regards.

Although Valdosta is no longer the dominant power in Georgia, South Georgia, or Lowndes county for that matter but it still remains one of the most respected programs in the country. There are many nights when the Wildcats face superior talent but the game is often over by halftime. Everybody always get up to play them so they have to bring their A game every week. They have always been a well coached disipline team.Keno1970 said:Historically. They're not doing so well this year.
True. I've seen them twice this year, loses to Lincoln (Tallahassee) and Lowndes). They looked great in the Lincoln game but horrible against Lowndes. The coach will definitely be gone very soon. They had hella talent but their numbers are dwendling because more people in the area are moving out of the city and into Lowndes' zone. If they don't keep some of those players, and fast, the reign my have seen it's last days.enswaclopedia said:Although Valdosta is no longer the dominant power in Georgia, South Georgia, or Lowndes county for that matter but it still remains one of the most respected programs in the country. A win over Valdosta is still like taking Miss America to bed on the 2nd date. It doesen't matter if the win is for the state championship or a preseason scrimmage.
