Like I said, as long as the Jukebox continues to get accolades and invites OUTSIDE of just SWAC audiences. I am good. That was what the Black Man built. If he was alive, he would say, that's why their asses don't go no damn where outside of a SWAC sponsored event or ball game. The Jukebox never has needed any cred from rival band programs. The legacy and history has always been bigger than that. And whether you like what they are doing now. It don't matter. They sure got a bunch of national attention. Haymer gets calls every week about doing something NON SWAC or even HBCU related. It was a reason THE OHIO STATE BAND felt like they needed to acknowledge the Jukebox after the BR floods. It's called RESPECT.
 
*Snickers* y'all had Dr Taylor covering his face after fucking up twice in memoirs, but y'all run the swac? Y'all #2 in the nation though.... a little more embarrassing might I add.... oh it seems when jsu snip at su feet they tend to mess up I.e. 2013 and now add 2016 botb... oh I know su folks gone say well jsu messed up too yeah that they did... but they're not #2 in The nation though, according to su folks jsu not competition anymore, we on the " decline " apparently.. SU here's some facts.... y'all put out maybe four different halftime shows a year which is where y'all got that #2 spot from haymer was always more of stand focused director ... brought in two young capable writers I'll give y'all that.... but messing up twice is only befitting of the #2 spot , let me stop to many facts and FYI I'm not answering to no ignorant blind biased puke box fans... Dude, don't be mendacious! The Ohio State University sent a signed bass drum to Southern University in support of those affected by the floods in the Baton Rouge area. The Ohio State University never bestowed any accolades to Southern University because of your band's performances.

The Ohio State University may not know who JayRob is, but they have heard of the "Sonic Boom of the South." Be mad at yourself for posting such balderdash.

Dude you're too stupid to realize the Hall of Champions is not the NCAA hall of fame and the hall of champions deal was a drum line feature that only lasted a few months. Not to mention SU and GSU went to Vegas years ago and when we went we got more publicity so carry yo ass.

And the Boom ain't been the same since Dowell Taylor retired the first time after that great 90 band. It's been downhill every since. That's exactly how us Jukes think too.

Man, both of you are delusional. And Haymer has not taken the band down. You don't have to like him. Many didn't like the YOUNG or Middle Aged DOC GREGGS either. Who you think orchestrated the Jukebox getting to Memorial early to blow on the Boom marching in the late 90s? It sure wasn't Haymer. He was in those bands. You only know of a I have been there and done that Doc. He didn't give a fugg about the other band programs after all his boys had either been retired, passed on, or fired from their Band Director jobs. SU has always been an band that pushed the envelope without caring what folks think. It is who we are. Haymer aint no different. If anything he has elevated the band exposure. Mr. Jackson carried the band through the transition phase from Doc retirement setting it up for Haymer.

Yall just have a problem with Haymer. Which is quite disturbing. SU is still getting more invites than your supposed to be great band. I think that's the jealousy part of what you have for him. Dude is connecting with folks who are putting the Jukebox on a broader level than just playing at Football games. But it has always been that way. Doc made Haymer. Doc was just like Haymer in his younger days. The difference was it wasn't any internet or social media to talk about it. But make no mistake. I marched in SU bands that took no mercy ON THE FIELD and in the Stands when we played folks and called them out at the game after doing it to them. The problem now is everyone takes stuff so damn personal. Band directors then just shook it off and came back at you harder than ever. Now all you fans do is whine about stuff. Haymer job is not to gain friends as SU band director. As long as he aint fighting other band directors and getting into altercations with them. He don't have to be liked.

BTW, you are too old to be acting like you never seen a good Boom and complaining about what Haymer is doing at SU. If anything you should know this Boom aint no where near the Boom of their Heyday. Do you even remember the Haughton and first run Taylor Boom's? Do you remember when SIVAD/ Prof Davis was in charge in the early 70s before Haughton? If you do. You would be quiet and not even try to talk about how SU is going down with Haymer. You would be like damn, when can the Boom get back to the glory years.

I have already been on record saying all bands aint what they used to be. But at least SU has been consistently good to great through the years. Without sacrificing who we are as much as others have. JSU has sacrificed the old BIG BAND sound I loved to trying to be like everyone else. Just blowing. All this stand crap means nothing to me. If your field show lacks effort. Kids skating and not picking up their feet. Different marching styles throughout the band and the crowd reduced to crickets at halftime unless some gimmick or some ole standard to get the crowd up like Rock the House or even in our case Do What you Wanna. That's were JR is with all bands. It is a reason we are called Marching Bands. We are at least trying to be that even in an era where folks don't seem to care about halftime anymore. It's all the Zero and Fifth Quarter and BOTBs. But if you like it. I love it.
