How much vacation time you got left?

Warndalyn

Postmaster General!!!
Well, it's that time of year...approaching the very end and the Holidays are right around the corner. We've gone thru the vacation exercise, here at work. All the managers wanted all remaining vacation time accounted for, so it's all been submitted, as of last month.

How many days y'all have left? Do you save up most of your time for the end of the year, around the holidays, or do you take a day here and there throughout the year?

I take days here and there throughout the year...AND put in for Thanksgiving and Christmas days each year. This is the last year, having to deal w/this crap. I'm off 5 days for the Thanksgiving/Bayou Classic break...then I'm off 11 days for Christmas/New Year's...can't wait! :flippy: :jump:

When are you guys off?

I have 440 hours.

 I wouldn't be nothing nice.

I think I have a couple of weeks. I rarely take time off for the holidays. Everyone else does, so I like to be here. :D

Hmmmm, I just might change that this year though.

D@mn Cee. That's how my brothers is. He works for one of the big 3 in Motown. They shut down towards the middle of December.

32 hours sick.
36 hours annual.

I plan on taking a nice vacation for the holidays.

Yes. We get two weeks off for christmas so I don't ever have to use my days. I take a day here and there. Had 480 but I took 40 to go to Key West three weeks ago.
WOW...so does your company allow your time to roll over? Obviously so, if you have that many hours remaining.

My company doesn't roll over vacation time...if you don't use your days, you lose them. :(

Yeah. They finally put a cap on it this year though. So they are forcing everyone down to under 400. So that means I take a day a month.

Dang W, most companies will let you roll over 40 or 80 hours. Plus, I thought annual(not sick) time was earned and if you didn't take it, they cut you a check or something.

I could be wrong.

My last job I had 3 weeks and could take off any day I needed.

This one I have two weeks and got the green light to uhh you know if needed.

I Have been taking off a week during the summer for family vacation, a week for me and the week after Christmas.

This year we are off for Thanksgiving and the day after so no day needed.

We will also be closed on Christmas and New Years eve so no days needed. I will take three days after christmas and use my other day for the Cap City Classic.

Man leave work Friday 21st and return Jan 2nd. Always a good time and the kids stay with the inlaws after christmas...

No sir...that's not the way it works at Canon USA, dear. They give you so many weeks a year, depending on your tenure. If you don't take your days, you are assed out.

They don't have to worry about that w/me, though. I use all my time, including sick days. LOL

The roleover thing is going by the waistside. At my last company it was gravy and most managers did a poor job of keeping up with the time. Shoot one year I took 5 weeks off. I rolled two into the next it was great.:happydance::happydance: Now that same company doesn't allow rollover just like my current company. YOu use it or lose it. Associates can get their unused vacation in the form of a check. Managers can't.

I think I have around 100 hours or so of vacation time and about 500-600 hours of sick time. They let us roll everything over here. Some of the people that have been here a while have like 6 months or more of vacation time. However from what I've been told, if you quit, they will only pay you a max of 300 hours of vacation time.

4 weeks of vacation time remaining thusfar where only 2 weeks roll over. :smh: And, from the looks of things, I'll be losing 2 more weeks yet again this year for the 4th consecutive year in a row. :retard:

We don't keep up w/ "sick" time because we arbitrarily stay @ home as we see fit. I couldn't tell how many days/hours I had if my life depended on it. lol
