SWAC at a glance

?Toughest schedule:
Prairie View A&M. The Panthers play only one game on campus (Oct. 12, Alcorn State).

?Easiest schedule:
Arkansas-Pine Bluff. The Golden Lions get Southern, Jackson State and Alabama A&M at home.

?Upset of the year:
Prairie View A&M over Southern (Oct. 26 at Reliant Stadium).

?Games of the year:
Southern vs. Tulane, Aug. 31; Southern vs. Jackson State, Sept. 21; Jackson State at Grambling State, Oct. 26; Grambling State at TSU, Nov. 2; Southern vs. Grambling State, Nov. 30.

?Coach on the hot seat:
Johnny Thomas, Alcorn State. The Braves improved from 0-11 to 6-5 in 2001, and Thomas did not get a contract extension.

?Don't be surprised if:
Mississippi Valley State averages 50 passes a game under new coach Willie Totten, who set numerous I-AA passing records at Valley in the 1980s.

?Projected order of finish:
East Division -- 1. Jackson State; 2. Alabama State; 3. Alabama A&M; 4. Alcorn State; 5. Mississippi Valley State.

West Division -- 1. Grambling State; 2. Southern University; 3. Texas Southern; 4. Prairie View A&M; 5. Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Its good to know he at least knows the names of the schools in the SWAC. It doesnt appear that he knows much else.

Easiest schedule. It's not like we have many home games, and 2 are Valley and Prarie View. Home field advantage is not really needed.

how in the hell does UAPB get easiest schedule?

Richard Dean assumes their toughest games will be an advantage favoring them since they are playing in their own friendly confines.

you know the chronicle does not care about us. They consider that top notch coverage.

I found out they have a black writer on staff from PV but they have him covering Comets and bozing.

This clown is doing nothing more than improvising. He needs to come on the SMACK page so we can talk about his ill prepared arse. Stevie Wonder could see that dam_ "botch" job. This ish is a gross disrespect for the Houston Readers. Then this clown tries to pacify the "Houston Negro" by saying PV will beat S.U.

Dont get mad cause Houston has a writer that panders to them like Baton Rouge does. Its all good.

his upset was a week too early last year. He could be wrong with SU but it cold be another team. However, SU's offense is not exactly great.

Just turn the heat up and Victor Ike is useless. Softty

V. Ike could be P. View by himself.

we'll see how great Ike is tomorrow. Some of his UT teammates were not impressed with him. Since he is a d-1 player I assume he'll terrorize the Tulane defense
