Hillary doesn't want the VP job, but doesn't want another woman to have it either

Clinton Campaign: "Hillary's not gonna take the [VP] job, don't worry, but don't you dare offer it to another woman"

Newsweek's Howard Fineman just said on MSNBC at 8:35pm Eastern that the Clinton campaign is demanding that Hillary be offered the VP position, which she will then decline, and then Fineman quotes the Clinton campaign as saying "don't you dare offer it to another woman." Isn't that special. Apparently, Hillary was only planning on breaking her own personal glass ceiling. For the rest of you, you can break you own.

You all will believe anything you see on TV. :smh: That information came from an outside groups poll which the Clinton Campaign had nothing to do with.

I heard this, too, and thought that this is some gall. But then it dawned on me that Geradine Farraro (sp) already has plowed that ground and thus, she would not be the first to run from this position. So, the implication that she wanted it first before any other women and wanted no other female candidate as VP to upstage her in that position made no sense.

Regards.

If Obama selected a woman to be his VP, I don't think that he would do it just because Hilary said not to.

Hilary is way out of line though. What exactly will she do if he does select a woman to run with him? What CAN she do?

I kind of read that a little diferent Dr. Mac, wherein she would say no (maybe) but wouldn't want him to pick another woman because she feels he can win the election therefore making his pick the first actual woman in America to be VP.

That I think we all can agree, she won't be able to swallow.

Blue:

I thought about that but that would only make sense if she wants to be VP. The rumor above says that she doesn't want VP: she wants to be POTUS. I can see the thinking if she feels that a woman as VP would all but asure Obama winning, especially if it is two terms, because that would all but eliminate any chance she would have to be president. She would be near 70 eight years from now. If he loses, she could run again in '12 (well, she could if he won, but that wouldn't be advisable unless he is not doing well).

But if she isn't interested in the VP slot, stating that she said that he not ask another woman to run makes no sense to me.

But be that as it is or isn't, he should get John Breaux (white, southern, hawkish, respected on both sides).

Regards.
