Wouldn't this be something? Lez be.... hypothetical :D. What if Billy Joe officially inquired about say..... PVAMU for the HC position and actually won it? LOL Rumor mill out of Tally-Ho has it that he's not happy w/ the current direction that the FAMU athletic admins are moving in and the speed of it (I-A wise).

Wouldn't that be.... something? lol :D You think he and Pete would exchange film as SWAC cohorts? lol :emlaugh: That would be something wouldn't it?

uuuh Panthro....that man is old. He ain't got time to go through the trials and tribulations of PV. You need someone with a young heart for that job bruh. Now if BJ gets fired, then would see him in Maroon and White or Black and Gold in the SWAC first. Now, I think that PV has more potential than either TxSo or UAPB but that's potential...nothing else. I really think you guys should have kept Dorsey to see what he would do with 63 scholarships.

Quietstorm,

alot of us feel that way !

I would not say alot. Maybe some but diffantly not alot.

LOL @ Panthro!!

Many would be surpised about the list of candidates that have shown interest in the football head coaching position. Now it is only about picking the correct coach to the lead the program.

Jafus, remember this aiight:

Applying for, showing interest in, and ACCEPTING AN OFFER are totally differnent things.

LOL@Jafus, bruh, wouldn't it be something if Billy Joe accepted this position that he applied for if he indeed did apply? ~snicker~

TP, if someone applied, I guesstimate that one could conclude that someone wants to accept it once the terms are worked out.

Uuuh no Panthro...I said earlier that you don't know ish...LOL

People apply for jobs just to see what the positon is all about ... you and I do the same things. Look at what Comegy did last year. It happens in the 1A ranks all the time. Mighty Dog can even tell you that when they did their coaching search that people applied, they offered the job and they turned it down. That is how they ended up with Jones. OK....aiight?????

Nope I don't do that just to see what it's all about. When I apply, I really want to go there. lol

To each their own. :smh:

Well to answer your question Panthro, his old ignant 2ss would have to he'll be in our conf. than and if he didn't his @ss would get fine.

Now as for him not being happy , I heard for quite sometime that if they pull this off he's history, probably because of how ignorant he gets at times and just plain old lack of people skills.

He can't go into D-1a trying to pull that crap he has in the past, talking about making Famu look bad.

Would it be far-fetched for Mark Orlando to be the Sylvester Croom of the SWAC?

Well I know for a fact that was the plan but some TSUer's say that has been nipped in the bud.

Bluedog is right on the money. Early in the year that was on the table, but has since been scratched off the list. There are several pieces to the puzzle at Texas Southern University. So it will be interesting to view whom is able to gain the momentum of pushing their agenda to the for front.

I know one thing is for sure it will be a great deal more difficult for agendas to be pushed down the schools throat at Texas Southern University that was often done in the past because of new leadership in the form of the alums and their proactivity. This is always a postive thing to see for any of our institutions.

Man, you are special TP. A real rarity. The glass is always half-empty for AAMU with you, huh? Please don't start that BS about us getting 2nd/3rd best pick. We got who we wanted 1st choice out of who we interviewed.

Tp since you know so much about the hiring process at AAMU lol

how bout Jackson State University?....Coach James BeLL was the person JSU wanted? Correct?

Well maybe our fields are different...when I apply for a job, not only do I have to interview but I also have to take a look at the facilities and the infrastructure. I also get a chance to talk to employees and get their perspective. Most of the intangibles of a position are not known until you get there and get to see it for yourself.

He was our AD's first and hand picked choice...so the answer is yes. And Mr. SWAC, I was on the SWACpage when all of this was going on with your hiring process and trust me, Jones was the best of the rest.

Interesting!!

Well, the best of the rest beat your AD's first and hand picked choice.

Shaking My Head @ such rethoric by the one only Tigerpride!!

.....and what does that have to do with anything?? Then again, don't try to explain it because it won't make any sense. He beat your AD's first choice too....I guess

Black assistants at PWCs have realized that being a HC at any HBCU or Private Black Univeristy is a great opportunity. The opportunity to become a HC at a PWC is a long shot, therefore they are seeking HC positions at black schools. The pay is not bad and if they can win it puts them in the spotlight. MBC TV is also a plus, but when we hire these coaches they must not take us as fans, supporters and alumni for granted.

The one thing that I am proud to see is that so many of us have gotten involved with programs at our schools. We can make a difference by being active in every level of our universities. And the key is don't let folks tell us that we need to give more back, as a means of writing us off; because there are a lot of alums giving back to their schools. Just because they are not giving back to athletics they are still giving back.

TP, you did not get it right on the Jones issue. Bell will not admit it but he learned a lot about BCF this year. Did he understand JSU Football? I doubt it. Watching the teams in the SWAC play is one thing but trying to win as a coach can be difficult on Saturday.

Maybe not but I am not totally wrong either... I recall those threads vividly especially by Misinformed Mike.

MD, I think that Bell learned a lot about BCF and Jackson State but most of all himself. The man still knows football and how to run a program. His downfall is going to be the pressure he feels from the JSU faithful who are gonna push real hard to get him fired next year since his third year is only an option year. He is not given a fair chance to rebuild the program becasue most fans did not see the fact that he was taking over a program that needed to be rebuilt. Bell has a lot of work to do but I fear that he won't be the man to do it. Mighty Dog, Bell and his system can win in the SWAC and 1-AA. I actually think that he is the only coach that has it right but the question still remains.."can it work in BCF".
