One school loves to brag on attendences but we see they have been letting folks in free  . So that means their attendence numbers should have a * by it

KO :lol:You don't have a baseball team for starters. That sport has incredible travel costs over the course of a season.
Also, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Jackson State, Mississippi Valley, Alabama State and Alabama A&M are within 414 miles of your campus and in neighboring states... so in essence half of the conference is in that precious drive time window that the majority of the OVC schools are in...
The OVC is STILL a one-bid basketball league, and you guys -- like everyone else -- are hitting the road in the non-conference taking guarantee games before the conference schedule to balance the books.
Oh and in football, you don't play Jackson State in Jackson. So right there, one of your biggest paydays has some savings because of reduced travel.
Since you're insulting my "liberal arts" education, riddle me this you big time Fortune 500 CEO you ...
Football drives college athletics. Why are you in a conference where all the member schools are closer in distance, but they don't show up to your stadium for your games in one of America's largest cities? What turns those other OVC schools' fans off about playing TnSU in Nashville? What turns your fans off about seeing the other OVC schools play TnSU? Why are you bragging on geographic proximity to other institutions when statistically speaking your geographic proximity to other OVC members has not translated into increased ticket revenue from 2008-13?
What's the use of harping on "reduced travel expenses" in college athletics when football pays the bills and four other SWAC institutions have made more than you?
I'll be waiting over here while you supply some statistical evidence that proves your point. At least come with some proof. Until then ...
We don't believe you ... you need more people
Oh BTW, Texas A&M could've stayed in the Big 12 and bragged about geographic proximity ... but they saw that SEC money and went for the money. You see where I'm getting at, right?
You do realize this round of conference realignment doesn't a damned thing to do with geography ... it has everything to do with maximizing revenue streams? Another question, big-time Fortune 500 CEO ... what does TnSU plan to do to maximize revenue? Obviously that ticket revenue with that good geographic proximity to other OVC members is doing wonders for the athletic department's coffers.
And so did SU. Some schools needs to step it up. The Texas schools :smh:
But they don't need the SWAC lol... according to their posters they have the best possible situation

Typically what happens, attendance during our first game is usually decent. Having our own Classic has boosted attendance some. During the next 2 games, if the team is doing well and the school we are playing is not too bad, more than likely we will still have good crowd attendance especially if homecoming is one of those games. However once the MCC has been played, that's pretty much it. What could have been an average of over 10,000-11,000 usually drops down to about 9,000 or 8,000 because of lack of interest in the later home games. For as much flak that we get, it is still not too bad especially when you compare to other non-hbcu schools & conferences.Might see a big increase in AAMU's figures real soon. Lots of changes happening on the Hill athletically!!

People have been stealing money bottom line...
Were there $10 and $15 tickets to get in some of jsu's games??? You will see a bigger drop in attendance now that ticket prices have gone up.
attract schools to do what? This is where I blame our commissioner for not promoting the SWAC. He could used those numbers to attract schools that would maximum member schools profit.
obviously higher ticket sales does not translate to stable budgets so where is the money going or are the figures legit?
They are getting the best of both worlds in football.....
The Texas schools don't seem to be having financial problems in their athletic programs or getting screwed by their biggest game funds being put in the schools general fund instead of going back into athletics to help offset its cost.
Leave us out of that mess.......
attract schools to do what?
based on what? Staffing does not reflect it...
You've been around long enough to know, none of these programs are self sufficient. Basically, all it states is the university/state is subsidizing much less at some schools than others. Hence, your question is moot. The Texas SWAC schools need to sell more tickets to reduce the liability to your schools.

Seriously? I know Worm has more coaches than Pete had. So does Banks have more help than Spivery did. Even Cador finally got 2 full time assistants and if Coach P could have gotten his VISA stuff squared away. He would have had 3 coaches.
