grew up at slawcorn in those ragedy stands back in the 80s
was probably one of the first 100 fans to walk into the spinks during its first home opening.
tailgated on that grass lot in front of the men's dorms (the OLD revelswhen it was the football dorm and the Ragedy Men's Tower) year after year from the trunk of a Maroon 4door LTD.... and Once Spinks opened we moved to the parking lot under the Two Big trees that are close to the "entrance-exit" road.
99-00-01 it was HORRIBLE. no fans, tailgating was horrible.
the highschool day attendance went down the drains.
the great homecoming parades that drew thousands were NO MORE!
everything just went down hill.
the vicksburg alumni chapter that worked close with the brookhaven alumni chapters just DROPPED THE BALL. Stopped recruiting and stopped supporting the school. (sad to say) And they supported my choice of going to JSU!
I was the FIRST of the family and I started the Trend b/c everyone else followed me b/c they're not attracted to Alcorn anymore. What we witnessed as a child and a teenager compared to what we see now is night and day.
I'm just being honest and you HATE it b/c u know its true. The reservation has lost its Mojo and you don't know how to deal with it.
dont get mad at me and call me stupid :lol: (it takes my mom, an alcorn graduate, to SPEAK THE TRUTH ON ALCORN) I wont dish out the IN HOUSE DIRTY LAUNDRY b/c thats not my place. So step back :lol: I'd hate to see you and the other 4 brave posters b*tch and cry.
Those students at alcorn wouldnt know sh*t about tailgaiting if it wasnt for SU and CCC. Thats the truth b/c those are the ONLY game that the students go to on an average. they dont even go to homecoming and the valley games like they SHOULD. :smh:
I'm glad I Chose JSU b/c the experience has been Awesome. Even When times are down we still stand strong The "FANS" might scatter but the "JACKSONIANS" will always stand True! (we don't wimp out and leave the scene for 10 plus years like the "Braves" from Lorman,MS)
