Gov. Bobby Jindal highlighted on Tuesday $3.7 million in capital outlay funding proposed for the Sparta Reuse Demonstration Project in West Monroe and $250,000 for utility infrastructure at Grambling State University. The funding was included in the fiscal year 2010 supplemental appropriations request submitted to the Legislature by the administration.

Gov. Jindal said, “We continue to make critical investments to improve the safety and infrastructure of our higher education institutions and to protect the quality of life of our citizens. By committing $3.7 million to the Sparta Reuse Demonstration Project, we’re investing in improving our infrastructure and safeguarding the Sparta Aquifer as a reliable source of water for the residents and businesses of north Louisiana. Our investments in Grambling will improve critical infrastructure to support a quality learning environment for students.â€￾
