Now we need FAMU back on the schedule...even if it means playing them on the date currently held by Savannah State. Somehow, GSU needs to alter it's schedule to play more non-conference games at the beginning of the year.

I would love to see FAMU, HAMPTON, A&T, TnState on the schedule. Hampton & A&T as possible Classics...but FAMU & TnState as home and home for a long time standing series!

that's what im talking about. i want competition. i don't want langston and savannah state and who else . can we sneak some georgia southern and nothern iowa in the mix too. i want the swac to be the best like it was back in the gap. the only way to get back to that is to make them pwc's run like they used to instead of lining up to play us now like they do.but we need to get quality coaches in place who know how to teach and coach and stop hiring people cause of they played at so and so or cause they played in the nfl.we need great football minds heading our swac schools.
 
OK TP, you had 3,000 at home games last year and you want to talk Shi%6 about this year. Again, how many times do we have to point out Jackson is the capital of Miss, and Gram is a small town. Attendance should not even be a topic. Just hope your team does better and you wont have to be like NT, and spend your time in the Band Forum this season. Alcorn send Help!!!!!!! :jump:

I remember our last game against GSU. It was in Jacksonville's AllTel Stadium (when it was still the Gator Bowl) for the annual Gateway Classic. It was a hard fought game and we had the ball inside the five with time running out and GSU up by two.

After having driven the ball down the length of the field, we were on the verge of pushing the ball in for the decisive score.

Alas, an overexcited guard whose name I will not mention moved before the snap and we were flagged for a very costly procedure penalty.

At least, that's the way I remember it.

Although I am a proponent of more home and home matchup between HBCU's, this game has the makings of an attractive one-time classic. An ocassional GSU matchup in the east/southeast is good exposure into recruiting of students and student/athletes.
