Grambling president Rick Gallot to become next president of ULS system

When you become a president in the University of Louisiana System you automatically become a candidate for the President of the system. Rick will be everyone’s boss….GSU will do a search for a new president.
Hopefully, we hire a president that is forward thinking.

Gallot was the best president at Grambling in recent history. He added new cutting edge academic programs, he was very engaged with students and alumni, no office scandals, and ya'll finally got a new library. However, I wish he would've done more to change the academic perception of Grambling and recruit better students. Grambling retention rates are still among the lowest in the state, the graduation rate is still among the lowest in the state, high school GPA is still among the lowest in the state, the nursing school is still unstable, Grambling is ranked low in almost all college rankings, 99% of Black high school valedictorians and salutatorians in the state laugh at the thought of going to Grambling to further their education. In fact, the majority of the top academic Black kids high school kids in Louisiana will chose a PWI or out of state HBCU before a Grambling or Southern. About 40% of Grambling students are from out of state where they don't have any HBCUs and they know very little about Grambling culture and reputation.

I don't think you correct on this information.
