Grambling loses two assistant football coaches

This was due to state budget cuts....there were a number of people laid off, demoted, transferred to another department, and given more responsibilities without pay. There were others in athletics laid off as well.

If you paid this guy $600,000, you dont have the right to say anything to any other school about their coaches salary

He knew better than that. I am not sure what he reason was but it wasn't to make us make a move on his behalf. He knows he can go. I think it was just that if he got the FAMU job, he would have some sort of job security for the next 3-4 years. He has no security in Jackson. We could fire him tomorrow. That's not a good place to be in and for a coach with 6 winning seasons out of 7, that is really not a good contract but it's what you get when you are in Jackson and not winning championships.

Anyway back to GSU. I hope they find some coaches in the next few weeks. No smack.
 
The legislature has cut higher education in Louisiana almost in half. Every university entity has to make sacrifices.
 
Would these cuts have been made if Grambling had finished 10-1 last year? I doubt it. Setting your coach up to fail.

One thing I do understand, jsu is paying way more for its tub of lard than Southern is paying.

Grambling needs to go D2 or NAIA for about 5 years and then come back to the SWAC if it still exists. Right now you are not competing in the worst conference in the country and it seems to be getting worse for Grambling. Yall need to do whats best for Grambling.
