Some schools are way out of their leagues. I see Mrs. DeFils is still cheering for her Warhorses. She is just like what Momma Jag was to SU. I guess she might have grandchildren attending Peabody by now. I heard Coach Smith's grandson will be going to Southern and their star point guard who's just a junior has already signed with LSU. I hope more players from Peabody can find their way to SU. It would be nice if a pipeline to SU is started.

Mrs. DeFils is still cheering for her Warhorses: Cedric Russell has another year left before he attends LSU. He would be the only reason why I'll pull for LSU over Alabama. Coach Smith's grandson has signed with Southern.

The Warhorses are 14-0 and sit at as the No. 6 team in nation according to MaxPreps, and they are doing it with three generations being represented.

Smith, in his 31st season as Peabody's coach, has his son, Kedric, helping him on the sidelines as an assistant in his sixth season. One of Smith's players is his grandson, senior point guard Jacoby Ross, who is one of the unquestioned leaders for the Warhorses and is Kedric's nephew.

"It's a great feeling," Ross said. "They are on my butt every day telling me to go hard in practice, make shots and do what I have to do. They push me every day. It's a blessing, I wouldn't have gotten this opportunity if they weren't here in my life. I thank God for them every day and I'm just thankful for it."

Ross, a Southern University commitment, is leading the team with 22.4 points and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 48.1 from 3-point range. However, one of things that he has grown into is his maturity.

SU Lab whipped Gram Lab by 20!!!! I see a showdown maybe coming with them and Lafayette Christian in the finals. Also, Peabody was upset by 3 in the semis. I didn't see that one coming. They was handing out ass-whuppins like guh'ment cheese during the playoffs....LOL.

They were beaten by a half-court shot, but they never should allow that team to get back in the game. Sometimes I wonder about Coach Smith's conservative playing tactics when they have a big lead. It's almost like he doesn't want his team to win by a big margin. I do believe it has something to do with some white coaches in Louisiana complaining about Peabody running up the score on them. Coach Smith better start thinking about the players on his team first instead of some sorry white coach.

Truth be told we did better than I thought. Also this may be last year that GHS is in Single-A....the charter is expecting 300 kids this coming school year.

Hell, he beat KIPP by damn near 80 in the 1st round!! If that's what you do, then that's what you do. He must be having some sort of identity crisis.....lol. He should be like those Jack Yates (Houston) bball teams. They had them white folks all on the news talking about them being bullies for beating them so bad.....LOL!!!!

And if you look at the video, you can see Peabody players weren't playing hard against KIPP.

Yep. JY took their foot off the pedal against Wheatley one year and ended up losing after being up 20+. After that Coach Wise said hell nah. LOL Beat poor Lee High School 170-35 or something like that
