This is so generous. I was fortunate enough to graduate from Texas Southern debt-free and that gave me a huge leg up in my early life. I make sure to give back to TSU as much as I can to show my gratitude and I hope these young men do the same for Morehouse.
The loans of the 2019 class totals $40 million, one student in the article mentioned he was in $90K worth of debt and the average loan debt there I believe is $30K at Morehouse (at TSU it's around $40K). If I ever come across a large lump sum of money, I would definitely do the same for TxSU.

Morehouse College seniors got a surprise Sunday when billionaire investor Robert F. Smith announced during his commencement speech that he would pay off the student loan debt for the historically black college's graduating class.
