GOOD JOB JERRY JONES AND JASON GARRETT!!

For the most part, Dallas the last several years have been an idiot organization. They probably need new ownership but that is not going to happen.

There was a time when I was a big Cowboy fan. It was a long time ago.

I used to somewhat like the cowboys too. But that was way before Jerry Jones brought the team. I still remember the days of Tom Landry, Roger Staubach, Tony Dorsett, Drew Pearson, and Ed "Too Tall" Jones, but that was a long long long long long long long long time ago. Even though I somewhat liked the cowboys back then, my favor team was still the SAINTS.

That was me with the Cowboys-before Jerry. I hated their losses to Washington and Pittsburgh. I always was ready to see the nationally televised games each week. Jerry is not making me want to jump back on the bandwagon.

Notice I didn't mention Rodgers. Some QBs can handle defenders all around them. Brady and Manning will lay down before they get hit. They would lay down a lot behind that line. And Rodgers been sacked more than Romo because Romo avoids sacks better.

You are right that those QBs give themselves up in the pocket when pressured But, I think what helps those guys is that they don't make a habit of throwing the big interception like Romo or even Jay Cutler. Take that Washington game in Week 17 for example. Romo threw a couple of devastating picks, including one in the flat late in the fourth quarter that ended any hopes of the Cowboys making the playoffs. You don't see Rodgers, Big Ben or Brady turning the ball over as often at the same rate as Romo when they are under duress in the pocket.

That last pick Romo threw against Washington was pathetic!! The RB was actually open but the ball was overthrown. That was all Romo. But Romo doesn't have any more bad games than any other QB.

Some of us disagree ....

He's mistake prone under pressure. NOT what you need your QB to be. :smh:

Not only Romo is just their QB, but he's their QB for the next 6 years. Dude will be damn near 40 y/o before his contract expires.

And not only is Romo still QB for another 6 years, Jones is giving this dude over $100 million over the next 6 years!

I don't know a whole lot about football but I do know Romo is NOT worth that much. If Jerry Jones had any real business sense, he'd make Romo pay HIM to stay on the team. How many times has he taken the Cowboys to the playoffs and the Super Bowl?

That's my girl ....

To be fair, Romo's total interception numbers had actually decreased since 2007, while cats like E. Manning and Drew Brees have increased. However, those guys -- Manning and Brees -- aren't as criticized as much because the Super Bowl wins and 4th quarter successes give them equity. Romo, although his numbers have been solid for the most part, hasn't had the same level of success as Rodgers, Brees, Manning or Brady during his career.

As bad as Mark Sanchez is, he's won more postseason games (4) than Romo has (1). Once Romo gets to playoffs more, wins playoff games, and a championship or two, he'll be given the benefit of the doubt for his play. But because of the team he plays for, who the team is owned by, the expectations, Romo's performances will be scrutinized (fairly or unfairly) more than any other QB in the league.

If.

I don't see it happening though. The primary reason I think that is - body language. When Tony Romo gets in an adverse situation, his body language says that he doesn't believe he can win. Watch him on the sidelines after he throws one of those fourth quarter picks. He's usually sitting alone - smirking and grinning. Watch him during one of those late drives when the Cowboys are down with a chance to win. Watch his body language and command of the team compared to a Peyton Manning or Ben Roethlisburger. Anybody on a team can pick up if the leader doesn't believe he can win. That's in business or sports.

Think about Tim Tebow in that streak he had with the Broncos. Tebow is probably the worst NFL QB I've ever seen. But, he believed he could win. His teamed sensed that and went out there and fought for him. Tebow won more games that year than anybody expected him to.

Tony Romo is the anti-Tebow. The opposite of Tebow. Has the talent and ability. Can win when there is no pressure. But, when the pressure is on, he's almost guaranteed to lose. Because that's what comes from inside him.

Until he gets his mentals straight, the Cowboys will never win anything with Tony Romo.

Well, the only way Tony Romo will get over whatever perceived mental hurdle he has is to come through more often in those big moments. Success will change that. You just don't acquire that confidence by belief alone. You have to experience positive results first.

Or with an owner that will not hire a real coach and let him coach. You know something is wrong with Parcell's ran from Dallas faster than the Flash! Romo is some of the problem, not all of it.

Jerruh being the owner is not the problem. After all, the Cowboys did win three Super Bowls with Jerruh as the owner. His personality and management style is a problem, but I think if he would get out of his own way and hire a good GM and Head Coach (and fire Tony Romo), the Cowboys could win again.

Winning may be as simple as that. Hiring the right people. Firing the right people. And getting out of the way to let them do their jobs.

Jerry is the problem when he don't let people do their jobs. I believe Jimmy Johnson had more with two of the three Super Bowls they won. He was the builder of that team, not Jerry and he has been trying to make Johnson look bad ever since.

You should never dog out someone who is winning for you. Jimmy left as a winner and now Jerry looks like the big loser.

THIS!

Jimmy Johnson wasn't intimidated by Jerry Jones and had no problem telling him where to go. He more than let Jones know that he was the Dallas Cowboys coach.....I believe on several occasions he showed Jones that he was the coach.

The Cowboys have not been the same since Jimmy Johnson left (imo).....
