Not bad at all for a SMALL D2 university sports program. I looked them up at first thinkging they had a pretty large enrollment but its only 3500 students.
 



It's people across country and outside of the United States that are willing to help our causes. But, we have stop "hoping and praying" for something to drop out of the sky.

If I have talk to a cartel leader, or a dictator to secure funding for the school. Oh well, it must be done.

Yes Delta State stays in that 3K-4K enrollment range. Our only advantage over them is being D1 (in name) so we can get better athletes than them but everything else goes to them (maybe except the New Gym and football stadium are probably on par)
 
Delta State has a beautiful facility and a program that's known for winning. Not to mention, the city of Cleveland loves them. You can go into Cleveland and see damn near everybody rocking Delta State gear and most stores will have some sort of Delta State merch hanging somewhere. You don't see that for Valley in Greenwood or Indianola.

With that being said, I try my best to give back to MVSU even though I'm currently finishing up my degree at Jackson State.

It used to be a time in the 70s and 80s when Valley had the whole once thriving Delta behind them.My family roots are in the Delta so I remember going to Greenwood to see my cousins and seeing people walking around with the Archie Cooley cowboy hats and other Valley nalia...MVSU used to giveaway alot of souvenir hats with the old school devil logo on it at the football games and other events in the community .It seems like alot of Valley fans and loyal family died out or moved to other parts of the country where they no longer have a connection to the school.

Why would anyone get butthurt by that? The reason it is that way is due to a lot of factors that are not sports related but one of the main reasons is similar to what happens at Valley:

People move from the Delta and don't reach back. Then they make posts like this and act like it's the fault of the people that are still stuck there that you got politicians at the local, state and federal level that pimp people for votes and not do anything (of course the state aint doing anything for black people). Then Raul and Habib come in and set up shop and take the little money they do have and don't invest back. And with the population dwindling and the lack of high paying jobs, that doesn't help the cause

That's exactly what happened. I know it started to happen when I made it on campus and it is continuing to happen.

I can tell you of a couple of stories of people reaching out to me via inbox on social media and saying that they wanna help out but they don't wanna come back to the Delta (whie living on the East Coast or Texas) often which kind of defeats the purpose and makes your point. If you wanna talk about raising millions to put into Itta Bena or Valley but don't trust the people in place, you kind of have to be on the ground to see it through yourself

Valley is the school who got stuck behind the times. They're a living witness of "If you don't progress, you'll get left behind."

It's sad cause it tells a story of how "The Delta" dissapeared...I look back and laugh about how country those hats were but my relatives and all those other black folks who lived in those Delta towns were just showing how much they loved them some Valley....too many of the real Valley fans are dead and gone now.

Yes I'm sure when you were in school you were able get a glimpse of the passion of old MVSU supporters I spoke of...I'm talking about the ones who didn't care about shit else but Valley lol and remember when the school was first started etc....

Has the state backed industries (other than gaming) in the delta like the Nissan and Toyota plants in Madison and in North MS?
 
We need fundraising committee at our schools. It's damn shame, we still operate on a mindframe of 'praying and hoping' will solve our problems.

I swear, we only need to hire business-minded people at our school, and stop hiring your best friend, or some crony that will not do jack shit.

The state could care less about the delta region. I hate to say it but its true. Once Viking appliances sold out to an out of state owner the state had no reason to look that way.
Now with these marijuana farms about to pop up all over that region in a few areas that may change. It's more of a wait and see now. Cause that was part of the reason a few of the area politicians were behind it cause the good ole boys will definitely be converting parts of those cotton fields very soon.

Son, what I do and have done for the delta you will never be able replicate in your lifetime. I would be willing to bet that and in fact I do more for Valley than you if you want to make that wager!
