Growing up on the Gulf coast the family elders always made sure that we were aware of the force and power of "the under tow" aka riptide. We were taught how identify possible dangers and what to do and not do if caught up. Even with training , panic and exhaustion can lead to fatal decisions. As a father if my last breath was knowing that I was able to put my child in a safe situation I did my job. RIP
