Former Southern Cal AD Mike Garrett to be named AD at Langston University

We don't want Langston. We already have PV, Valley, and Southern.

Really TP. That is some bullisht. You act like SU is some bottom of the barrel school and yall wonder why folks take shots at JSU on this board. Yall gone stop that dumb isht. SU got a better national reputation that you fools want to admit. I can understand rivalry. But some of the isht yall say is crazy. Absolutely crazy.

One thing i can honestly even though the Louisiana schools are going through things we still are making it and the national names have more weight than the rest in the conference combined. Not smack, just fact.:read:

USA Today hursh man, just hursh.

TP got JR hot. I wouldn't have put SU in that category though.

Just be tired of folks downing SU when I know for a fact we got some great National Cred. It aint all about football. Sometimes that get lost on here. Everyone feels like their football teams should be the face of their University. Oh well. I know this is the sports board. But some really do think their school are so much better than the rest. Hell PV, AAMU and SU are the only real Engineering programs in the SWAC. Last time I checked, technology is fueling the economy with the highest paying jobs. Anyway back to the illusions of granduer.

At least you didn't dispute it.

Man, there is not one academic heavyweight in the SWAC. Lets just be real. I love alma mater to death and I think we are poised for a good run but we are no Hampton, Morehouse, or Spelman. We all have niches.. Now, there are a few bottom feeders in the SWAC academically wise but I will leave that be.

I wouldn't put SU in the category with valley, however, you talking out the side of yo neck now by saying that pv,aamu and su are the only real engineering programs in the swac. Come on now brother man, JSU as a national renowed engineering program and have had it for the past six years. Don't get mad at something some said and turn around and say the same thing that got you mad. Calm yo nerves now. I have to speak up for the good things here at JSU.

Uh dude, JSU does not offer Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. The two top Engineering Majors within that discipline. Yall opened a new department and offer Civil Engineering , Computer Engineering and moved your Comp Science major under that. Maybe they plan on adding those additional majors at some point. But you are not a true Engineering school. Again the only SWAC schools with those disciplines are SU, PV and AAMU. All three programs have great cred out there. You obviously don't understand what folks mean about Engineering. LOL.

You're grown speak about the bottom feeders in the SWAC. Don't half-step now. lol

Damn,

LSU is not on this list. They've stolen everything else from us. Ain't that's right DCG????

Like I said, our program is new, however, we are graduating students with civil & computer engineering degrees and they are making big money. You know these rankings don't cover everybody.

I believe what JR is trying to saying, a complete engineering program at least must have three of the four major basic branches of engineering, which are Chemical, Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical. Computer Engineering is not a major basic branch of engineering and Civil Engineering is just one of the major basic branches of engineering. Plus, all basic branches of engineering must be ABET accredited before the program can gain any type of recognition.

Also, I believe you mis-read my post or read too fast. I said LSU not JSU. It's my way of poking a little fun at TSPN's Dixie lady DCG.

I look at this a bit differently. But this is another topic.

Yes I noticed that...they didn't steal anything, the SWAC school simply didn't want it...LOL

...Thank you for clearing that up for them and me.

I wonder if LSU would have gone to Texas back in the 60's or the 70's to recruit a certain kid?

You are welcome Dixie lady. And by the way, if you decide not to go to any of those LSU games, let me know. I know two LSU grads that would be happy to take your place and one played football for LSU. It's a damn shame a former Black football player for LSU can't even get on the waiting list for tickets.

Hell no they wouldn't have. They know who the best athletes are, black folks lol. The better hope nothing happens that will make the brothers and sisters come home.

Watch it USA.....You are beginning to sound like Jimmy "the Greek" Synder.

Not like i'm lying. Them mofo's seen how close The Gramblings, Southerns and FAMU's were to them and said hell we got to get us some homeboys, hell most were forced by law to accept the homeboys and the rest is history.

I call it the trickle down effect of Bama receiving a butt whipping from USC and Sam "the Bam" Cunningham. But you have a few on here and some folks from Grambling that would say a particular legendary coach in North Louisiana help to persuade major White colleges to recruit Black athletes.

Most PWC's were forced to accept the homeboys lol. Some knew they had to let the homeboys in to keep the brother down lol. One thing about white folks they stick together and they didn't show they needed the homeboy, they just accepted the laws and the rest is history.
