For SU fans coming to Montgomery........

Also if you need a hotel room don't get one off the Western Blvd. cause my play cousins WILL rob you.......The Embassy Suites is located right down the street from the stadium there two Hotels that are also in walking distance from the stadium.

The Riverfront festival will take place on Sunday afternoon and that's a great venue to check out if SU people are making an extended stay. For all you SU folks coming in early on Friday, Howard Hewett will be in town for a concert at the Carmichael CTR. along with Lisa Perkins and Sir Walt form the BET Comic View. For more info, log onto http://www.carmichaelcenter.com

How is the ticket situation? And can somebody post directions to Cramton (I know where Bama State is and can see it off of I-85 but have never been to the football stadium).

. . . can somebody post directions to Cramton . . .

JROCK,

The directions to Cramton Bowl will depend on where you are coming from, but I'll give you some general directions.

If you are heading north on I-85, when you see Bama State on the right you should take the next exit - Forrest Avenue. When you come to the end of the exit ramp, take a left on Forrest Avenue, and go back accross I-85. Stay on Forrest Avenue until it ends at Highland Avenue.

Take a left on Highland Avenue, and go to the next traffic light, which will be Hall Street. Take a right on Hall Street. Hall Street will take you to Cramton Bowl. After taking the right on Hall Street, you will go through one light, and the stadium will be just ahead on your left.

By the way JROCK, its a lot simpler than I made it sound.

THERE IS GOING TO BE A WHOLE LOT OF TRAFFIC, SO LEAVE EARLY ! ! !

Is Crawford Stadium and THE Crampton Bowl the same stadium. I will be in Montgomery sometime Friday night. I plan on going to Atlanta Friday, after i check in my hotel, to see some old college friends. What is there to do in Montgomery on a Saturday night. I personally know some Jags were so dessip after Saturdays loss they said they would not make the trip. But look for between 5,000-10,000 SU fans anyway.

SUjagTILL U DIE,

I've never heard of Crawford Stadium, and there is no "p" in Cramton, although there is a place to "p" in Cramton, unlike Mumford. :emlaugh:

As for what there is to do in Montgomery on a Saturday night, like most cities that depends on your age and interests.

There are numerous restaurants, bars, and one or two clubs worth mentioning. There is also a festival going on at the riverfront, if you like that kind of thing. If you are a young person, you may even want to check out one of the many fraternity & sorority parties.

Be careful on the interstate...the trooper will be out. :lecture:

If you plan to do any shopping this weekend...Montgomery is reducing the sales tax this weekend.

:shame: There is no stadium here in Montgomery named Crawford Stadium. The only stadium for football is Cramton Bowl. Now other stadiums for baseball is Patterson Field, and the new Riverwalk Stadium. For those interested in a close club Friday or Saturday after the game, the hotel right behind the stadium has a club called the 7th Floor. Also there is a big after party Saturday at the CarMicheal Center.

If you looking to shop, you got Eastdale Mall and East Chase. Both of them, are located on the east side of town. You could go to Montgomery Mall, but it is on the decline.

By the way, I have never heard of Crawford Stadium either. Only Cramton Bowl.

HEY DEUCE!!!! :wavey:

I'LL BE THERE...COME ON OVER TO THE SU SIDE, IF YOU DARE!!

I'm driving back to b'ham after the game so they'll be no postgame party for me. I went to the State/TSU game a few weeks back and after the game we went to this "little" oyster/seafood joint call Igor's. Wall-to-wall black folks. They might as well call it Club Igor's.

Exactly what I been thinking myself. That is the only restaurant I know in town that is similar to going to a club. It is a known black hangout.

What's up Jag-Tig ! ! !

If I go over to the SU side of the stadium, it'll be BEFORE the game, 'cause I'm sure there are gonna be a lot of mad Jags over there AFTER the game. :emlaugh:

LOL @ you going to Igors. It's a pretty cool place, and the oysters ain't bad either.

Can you easily but tickets when you get there?

:shame: I dunno about this one....I just tried to go and purchase tickets online at ticketmaster and they are saying no tickets are available at this time. :mrt:

I physically went to one of the local TicketMasters in Bham on Monday. During that time, I know at least sections A-B and some of C where taken.

SUpr Jag,

That depends on when you get there. The ticket booth at Cramton Bowl will open at 12:00 NOON on game day, and tickets will cost you $18. You can get tickets on campus TODAY up until 5:30 for $15.

I you decided to wait until game day, you had better get there early.

people actually sit where they are suppose to????

I will be in Montgomery in the morning... hopefully i can get some tickets.

Yep. Alabama State went to "all seats reserve" about three years ago for every home game. $15 before the day of game and $18 at the gate.

Black folks and reserved seating dont mix lol... the only other stadium where people actually have to sit in the right I have been to (HBCU's) is SU... everywhere else it has caused nothing but problems lol
